She seemed at a loss for words. Her... as hanger boss? Even Audin hadn't made it that swiftly. She nodded almost dumbstruck then swiftly recovered and smiled. "I won't let you down, just like I promised. We will see how well I perform and you can decide from there. Fair enough?" She couldn't believe it. Was the squadron truly as small and tight knit as she had heard? Were they really going to let her lead the crew that would eventually build up? She had visions of being a hanger chief with Rogue Squadron someday, she just hadn't anticipated the 'someday' would be as soon as tomorrow.

08-13-2010, 07:00 AM Torr Redeker
The Echani High General had been out for one of his short morning jogs when Kyra contacted him about a message from Romon requesting his presence at the recruitment center. 'Please contact Lieutenant Darksands and tell him I am on my way. I have about 3 more miles til my jog is completed so give me about 22 minutes.' he said with a smile as he heard Kyra's shocked response. He knew it was slower then normal but he was on mile 12 already and didn't want to burn himself out just yet.
About 20 minutes later Torr arrived at the recruitment station and walked through the main doors. "I swear to God if you call attention I will go grab my blaster and we will have some fun like the old days." he said with a darker then normal grin as he grabbed a towel that was offered to him and wiped his head.
"Hey Romon lets step outside and get some fresh air." he said with a smile as he looked to the young woman and scanned her with his brown eye as his silver one looked her over for weapons. "Oh and please join us Miss Talien." he then added with a kinder grin as he headed back outside and began stretching out a bit.
"So Ghost who do we have here? I got a a little bit of the message but was out on one of my small runs." he said as he knew all the members of the military knew the Echani High General was always keeping in tip-top shape.

Ari debated saying "Yes, Ma'am since she could easily blame Romon's orders not to call Torr 'Sir', but she stiffled her giggle and followed the men into the hall and listened. As Romon finished regailing her embaressings beginnings, she waited till the pause and spoke. "I know I am probably not the most knowledgable of all the candidates you have had, but I can say with confidence that I am the most dedicated and hard working. I will learn swiftly, work hard and never let you down. I want this chance to prove I can make a difference and to support the Republic." It was hard for her not to let 'the S word' fall from her lips. It had been ingrained in her since she was a child. One always called superiors by Maam or Sir. "I am not some loose cannon willing to put my neck or yours on the line to prove that point, Sir, but I will do my damndest to make sure that everyone knows that Rogue Squadron is the best and most dedicated in the fleet." Without realizing it, her passion had won out and the S word had slid from her lips. She was standing tall and proud, despite the men having their backs to her. She didn't care. This was to be her new life and she would make sure it was hers no matter what.

Torr turned rather quickly and just smiled. "Please relax, I am not all about having people at attention for serious. I want you to be yourself and I hope that you can both see me more as a friend then a boss or superior. I am the same as you after all. I am a soldier fighting for the Republic and the only difference is we have a different number of personnel to take care of." he said in a polite tone as he was beginning to relax a lot more even if his fake eye was driving him insane....even if it was doing so slowly.
"Well with Romon's recommendation and your resume I believe it is time we great you properly Cadet Arianna Talien. I trust the good Lieutenant will take care of you and show you around." he said with a smile as he turned to Romon and nodded his head in respect. "Oh yeah and before I forget you both are more then welcome to come by my home if you ever need anything. It is rather easy to find just ask for the Redeker Estate and everyone can point you in the right direction." he said with a smile as he was happy to see more and more new faces.

08-16-2010, 02:12 PM Romon
Romon smiled at the new Cadet, he knew she would make a good addition to the fleet. He had confidence she was up to the task. "No problem boss, I will show her around the hanger bay. I already gave her a basic run down of the situation as it stands now, but we will get her up to speed. "
Romon stood up and gave his CO a light slap on the back. "I'm glad to see the med droids got you all patched up and you are back up and moving. It's good to have you around Wraith." He offered the kinda friendly salute two pilots offer eachother to acknowledge a job well done and then turned to the squadrons newest member. "Well Cadet, lets get you up and running, this might be a speedy transition to military life, just depending on how quick we move out." He said flashing Wraith a grin. He and his were anxious for some action.

Ari almost bumped into the men as Torr spun on her. Smiling and nodding as he spoke of the informality her prefered, she spoke back. "Sorry... I was raised to 'yes Maam' and 'yes Sir' those above me out of respect." She winked, "But if you prefer not to have me address you that way, then I won't... Wraith..." Waiting to see how she would be remanded on that bit of titling, she listened to Romon and nodded.
"I am sure I will do fine. I promise not to disgrace the command or the squadron." She laughed softly listening to the banter of the men as she absently fiddled with one of her cuffs. She wasn't even aware that the fidgetting, along with the slight tilt of her head when she was listening to people, made her appear much younger and less able. It was just unconscious habit to her and something she was rarely aware of.
