Arianna Talien
"Tink", Republic One Airboss
(reporting)
Arianna straightened her uniform for the millionth time, raised a hand to be sure her hair was still neatly in place and stepped thru the doors following her escort. She was reporting to Arestul Angellus, LtCmdr of Republic One and her new boss. She was reporting as the new Airboss and was curious how bad things really were. Arestul had hinted at dinner that night that things were not all that great. As the escort asked her to wait outside, as he knocked and announced her, she straightened her uniform again and prayed there wasn't a shouting match this time.
“Cadet Talien here to see you, Sir.” The young man announced then spun on his heels and disappeared. Ari looked around the empty office and frowned. He needed a secretary. Or perhaps she was off today. Either way, she ran her hands down her skirt front and tried to press out the imaginary wrinkles there. Her cover was straight, her hair was fine, she was going to be just fine...
… so why did she feel like she was in the recruiting office all over again?

Arestul
Where the frak is my Yeoman...
Getting up from his desk, Arestul just walked by Arianna muttering only the words...
Let's take a walk...
Walking through the bridge, the comm area, the hallways, the engine room, weapons, Marines, etc. All of them were working and rolling like clockwork, sure they all looked like the were about to wet themselves as he walked by, or that they already, Arestul kept going. He kept walking without saying a word to anyone until they reached the launch and landing bays, then walked to the storage and staging areas.
Finally he reached the pilot's area, the briefing rooms, the offices, everything. Everyone in the areas regarding the shuttles and fighters were fine by Republic Standards, nothing was out of the ordinary. However there is one that that Arestul is, and that's out of the ordinary.
Do you see what I see?

Ari
Ari nodded and replied with a quick, “Of course, Sir.” Then she simply fell into step beside him. As his cover was removed, she swiftly removed hers. It hadn't been that long since she had had to practice protocol, but she remembered it all like she was fresh from the Academy.
As they went thru the spaces, she was impressed by the number of salutes, 'Sirs', nods, and respectful silences that fell as they passed thru. Everyone snapped to. One or two even rattled off some tidbit of information as if this walk-thru was a regular thing and certain things were expected. She was impressed... till the hanger.
As the rank and file turned from black shoe to aircrews, she found her lips creased in a frown. An occasional 'Sir' fell from someone as acknowledgment he was here. But other than that there was barely a nod. Several people were working, almost all looked up, but it was like a different world here... and not a good one.
As they stopped in the hanger and he said “Do you see what I see?” she frowned deeper and looked at him. Letting her hand drop to her side with her hat in it, she glanced to him and simply stated, “May I, Sir?” And nodded to the group that had looked up, only to then go back about their business.

Arestul
Crossing his arms over each other, Arestul just looked on. The fighter pilots didn't seem to pay much attention to him, in fact since they didn't really answer to anyone other than the Airboss or the Air Wing Commander and they had neither... well... suffice it to say that this was something that was going to be changed no matter what they thought. As he made sure to make mental notes of their looks at him right now, he just waved off the Cadet.
Go ahead...

Ari
Arianna smiled and nodded to the LtCmdr before taking two steps forward and bellowing in a clear crystal voice whose volume would make any drill sergeant proud. “ATTENTION ON DECK!”
She set her cover on a nearby gear box and walked down the center of the hanger as suddenly one by one and small groups began to realize what was happening. “I SAID ATTENTION ON DECK! THAT MEANS GET OFF YOUR BACKSIDES AND SNAP TOO.” She waved a hand back to motion to Arestul as her volume continued and they snapped into two lines down the front of the birds. “This is your Commanding Officer. There is NO reason on all the ice peaks of Hoth that someone shouldn't have hollered the same thing two seconds before he walked in the door and THIS was what greeted him!” She motioned to the lines now standing before her.
“Things are about to change around here!” She finished as she stopped back before Arestul and nodded to him.
“Your hanger crew... Sir.” Her eyes danced with a smile, but at least she had the sense to keep it off her face. After the dinner incident, she knew better than to assume he would be amused. She was only hoping, as her heart stopped racing, that he wasn't going to be upset.
