Alizabeth shifted her skirt for the umpteenth time and stepped into the Mirror's Edge. Scanning the room she didn't see Mr Mathews. It didn't really surprise her as she was 30 minutes early. She had been worried about what to wear, then what not to wear, then how to put up her hair (or not). She finally realized if she didn't leave her room, she would never get there. Fingering the recorder in her pocket like a worry stone, she then pulled out her hand and went to the bar to have a drink. She shifted a bit sideways and crossed one long leg over the other. As she leaned back slightly on the bar to survey the room, she made mental note of those dressed and those merely in work clothes. It seemed this was not a bar favored by the rowdier pilots of the military or even of the lower level civilians. This appeared to be more of a high end establishment. That being noted, her back arched slightly as she sat just a minute straighter and her thoughts of being here with Evan nearly made her throat close up. Was this a normal place to meet a lowly level one intern? Surely she misunderstood.
Turning back to the bar she figured she had made a mistake and perhaps was just to send a message here for him that she was available to speak to him. Perhaps just a message... that was it. She would finish her drink and go. Placing the credits on the bar so there was no need to waste time, she set to finishing her drink as swift as she could without making it seem like she was running away. After all, what if they found out she was only an intern?

Evan
Tie pulled down, jacket slung over his shoulder, and hair a bit out of place; Evan looked like a man in much need of a drink. Lucky for him he was hoping to meet a special lady friend tonight as well. Alizabeth had caught his eye in more ways than one and he now hoped she would be his plus one to the Charity Ball that Trey had made him promise to be at. Of course Trey had thrown out the point that he was planning to run for office and this ball would be the perfect stepping stone to launch his campaign.
The door to the Mirrors Edge slid open with a familiar hiss, allowing the Coruscanti Rep to enter the establishment. He immediately spotted Alizabeth and fixed his appearance slightly, ruffling his slightly graying hair back into place and sliding back into his jacket. With a quick and satisfied check in a nearby view port, Evan made his way to the bar where Alizabeth stood with her back to him.
Evan slid onto the stool next to the intern and smiled. "You seem to be in a hurry," he said noticing that she was set on finishing the drink she was gulping down. "You got a hot date tonight or somethin'?" He then joked, secretly hoping that that wasnt the case.

Alizabeth choked back her swallow of wine as she heard the voice. Her initial reaction as a body occupies the chair beside her is to make some rude comment back. “As a matter of fact...” She turns about to make some witty retort to put the young upstart in his place and realizes it's the man she was waiting for. “Mr. Mathews! I... I'm sorry. I didn't mean...” She smiled and felt the heat rise on her cheeks before looking back to his eyes and trying to calm herself.
Straightening her back she smiled a bit more relaxed and managed to gather herself quickly. “No, I am not in a rush because of a date. I just realized I had probably misinterpreted your message. I didn't want to intrude on your evening. I was merely going to send word that I would like to meet to discuss Drunkenwell and future events as well.” She seemed more herself again and relaxed. She shook her head when the bartender offered her more; after all, she wasn't staying. That was preposterous.

A chuckle escaped Evan's mouth as it took Alizabeth a moment to realize that it was him addressing her. He held up a hand to quiet her stammering, something he had quite realized she was capable of, then offered a warm smile. "Well that's good. We've got a bit to talk about," he said with a roguish smile.
He raised a hand to get the bartender's attention and ordered himself a Corellian Ale before returning his attention to the Intern next to him. "Wanna grab a table?" He asked gesturing to the mostly empty dining area and making his way to a booth along the wall before she could answer. "So how have your first few days on Telos been so far?"

She nodded as he mentioned the table. Was he truely going to stay with her? It made her happy that he was willing to be seen with her. She nodded to the empty goblet and then to the table they were going to. The bartender nodded and went to refill the glass for sending to the table.
"I have enjoyed it so far. I am learning a lot just from being around such an information hub. It is nice to know there are places where one isn't considered ignorant for not knowing galactic events. And also where one isn't constantly bothered by a myriad of questions she is expected to know yet doesn't." She laughed and took the seat with her back to the door as he slid into the booth opposite her. She wouldn't know trouble in these parts, so it made more sense that he should be able to see the door. Besides, she thought, if she judged his reactions right, she would be able to pinpoint people of interest simply by his reactions to seeing them
"I am just glad you gave me the chance, Mr. Mathews. I have sent a missive to the reporter you gave me. I am hoping to hear back by this evening upon my return, or tomorrow. I can let you know the outcome if you wish. Though I am sure, him being your friend, he will probably tell you himself." She nodded as the waitress set her fresh glass before her. Taking a sip she then looked at him. "How is the new office coming along? Or should I say, the redecorating of the old office?" She smiled and relaxed a bit.

"Give it time," he said over the lip of his cup. "You'll get to where the rest of us are on ridiculous questions."
Evan's gaze rarely left Alizabeth. In fact to few times that it did was to observe the room briefly and to watch the door the couple times it slid open. His attention was completely devoted to her. "Please, just Evan in public like this," he said raising a hand to interject. "I still feel weird when people call me Mr. Mathews," added Evan with a laugh.
Small talk; gotta love it.
"I honestly havent done much with the office in the Citadel Station but my new office in the Senate Building is coming along quite nicely if I do say so myself," he told her. "Though I probably need to find someone to help me out with it. I've never been very good at decorating. Aleane used to make fun of me all the time about how my room was always funny looking," he laughed, shaking his head at the memories he had with his sister, not thinking about the fact that him having a sister was not common knowledge.
