The Sith Empire (Sith) > Sith Only > Sith Empire Headquarters
05-20-2011, 12:46 AM Sahra Disciple
Orbs as bright blue as the blue-silver crests of waves of some far off planet's oceans, she stared at the rock and held her hand with long, lithe, porcelain digits pointed beseeching towards it. She had built the rage and anger of her past up to the point that the ball of energy that blazed around her was powerful. It may be untrained, but as she practiced the lessons over and over, the energy was honed, chiseled and slowly becoming a true tool rather than just a power source.
The rock lifted slowly and began to come towards her. Force Pull was one of the two lessons Dark Destru, her mentor, had begun teaching her. It was the one skill she could practice in the courtyard's far corner and not worry about being bothered. Force Speed, the other skill, was practiced in the wee dawn hours when none were awake and the night's darkness fed her own inner darkness. She used the night to amplify the ebony in her heart and spur her on to faster speeds, more perfect leaps and sharper turn reactions.
But it was the rock, now, that held her rapt attention. It was hovered partway between her and the bench she had lifted it from nearly ten feet away from her casual stance. She wore no robes or mask, merely was as she was... a woman with power. A woman learning to use it and wield it as easily as she had honed and fine sharpened her wiles in the outer world for the past many years.
Her long, lean body was clad in tight dark breeches and a form fitted tunic. The lacing at her wrists was tight, to not hinder her grasp, but the lacing at the top of her shirt was loose to allow the evening breeze to half caress her alabaster skin. Her long hair was short, but was bound close to her head with a black ribbon whose ends dangled down her back from its hidden knot under the back of her hair. From the back she would almost seem a black version of what some cultures called a ghost and her pale skin, though not the near albino of the Echini, was still a paler shade than most humanoid species. Not that she was anything special... merely almost ethereal. Though that word would surely only be used in a descriptive sense, nothing more.

Standing just inside the courtyard, Drake watched the alabaster skinned woman as she called upon the dark side to bring a rock floating towards her. The Sith Warrior from Haruun Kal was clad in in dark jeans, a pair of black boots, a black jacket that was left open to reveal his bare chest. He wore a dagger and training saber clipped on opposite sides of his belt. They made a faint sound as they rubbed against the fabric of his pants when he moved in for a closer look at the woman.
She was obviously a new addition to the order. Her power was raw but she had potential. Drake wondered who her master was. After moving closer to her, He stood a few meters behind the woman and was curious as to how long it would take her to realize that she was no longer alone in the courtyard. ***
05-20-2011, 02:44 AM Sahra
Like a branch pressing water before it, she felt something at her back. Someone.... there was a difference to the feel of his presence. Since she was so preoccupied with the rock before her, she could not discern the owner, still untrained at the splitting of concentrations. She decided to make her skill and her own knowledge of the intruder known. Pulling the rock swiftly, she spun and flicked her hand in an attempt to hurl the rock at the intruder's leg. She didn't want to take its head, or seriously wound it, whoever it was, so the leg seemed the least likely mortal target.
As she spun and saw him, she realized he wasn't Zephyrus. She let the rock continue though. If it was a Master before her, the rock would be easily deflected. She may anger him, but he would not ream her for the cowardice she would be for stopping the projectile. Contrary wise, were it a student, the rock may teach them the lesson to not sneak up on others.
The trouble was, her precision wasn't as precise and controlled as she hoped. As the rock passed her body, the flick of her hand also caused it to pick up speed. It if collided with the man before her, his shin would have a nice knot on it. If he could manage to deflect it, he would feel the surge of power behind it. And possibly the fact it was pure, unadulterated rage that had been its firing mechanism.
The growl that accompanied the assault was low and maniacal as if a stranger were reaching to take a fresh kill piece from the jaws of the lady who felled the meat. It was neither inviting nor forgiving.
***
05-20-2011, 03:09 AM Drake
The woman's reaction to Drake's presence was to send the rock she was lifting, sailing right towards him. The move was quick and fluid, and in that moment he decided to let the rock strike him. He would be able to tell how strong he was in the dark side when it did. She had the anger, Drake could feel it rolling off of her like waves, but could she harness it and use it to reach her full potential.
He was a little dissapointed when the rock struck his leg and not someplace more important. The woman had seemed more bloodthirsty than that with the animalistic growl she had favored him with. Drake took the blow without so much as a flinch. There was a small flare of pain, and he could already feel a welt forming on the area that had been hit. The masive Korunnai welcomed the pain, and allowed it to strengthen him. He looked down on the woman with his dark green eyes, a cold smile on his face.
"That the best you got?"
***
05-20-2011, 01:27 PM Sahra
She had been worried that she would be called a fool for throwing rocks without knowing who her target was. She hadn't expected to be chided for her inability to make a dent in the man's demeanor. "No..." She grinned like a predatory cat that had found its next meal. "I am sure," she said as her eyes flicked behind him and to their sides to see what she could use, "that I am capable of much more. I just know better," her fingertips barely moved this time. She didn't know if one HAD to raise their whole arm for Force Pull or not. She just hoped it wasn't a necessary focus thing. She continued her speech, "than to attack someone I don't know." At this point she grit her teeth and balled her hands quickly.
The result was that while she looked comical for a heart's beat, the two stones behind Drake came sailing stright for his shoulderblades as the one to his left headed straight for his temple. She truly didn't want to brain him or even hurt him. But the taunt had raised her ire enough that this one time she didn't care if the trajectory or the speed were slightly off. She merely wanted him to quit laughing at her with his eyes.

Drake used the anger emanating from the woman to bolster his own power, and used it to produce a shield to protect him from the onslaught of stones she had hurled at him. Rather than strike him, the stones fell harmlessly to the ground around his feet. If he hadn’t been able to sense the girl’s gathering of her power, Drake might not have noticed the girl’s attack… subtle as it was. The Sith Warrior was mildly impressed at her control of the technique. After being attacked twice by this woman, Drake wanted nothing more than to snap her neck, but he had to remind himself the the woman before him was merely a disciple, and didn't know any better.
The grin never left Drake’s face, even after using a burst of speed augmented by the dark side to move behind the woman. He put his large hands on her shoulders and leaned over to speak into her ear. “I thought you said you knew better?”
***
05-22-2011, 12:17 AM Sahra
She cried out surprised as his hand rested on her shoulder. She slammed her elbow back towards his gut in a reflex action she hadn't meant to take. She pulled back at the last moment when she realized that it was a reaction she was having and not a conscious act. “I said I knew better... I didn't say I wouldn't do it anyway." He had moved so fast she knew that his Force skills were greater than hers. He could snap her neck and she would only be able to whimper.
She slowly turned letting him either keep his hand where it was or let her go. “What did you expect me to do? Seriously. From the moment I got here I am told that it's weakness to do anything other than show strength.” Her arms went to her hips as she stared at him and her voice rose to a near growl. “Then you taunt me with 'Is that the best you got?' and you expect me not to rise to that challenge? Either you are a Disciple who doesn't know any better, or of higher rank and just very confused.” She tilted her head and grinned slightly. “So which is it?”
***
05-22-2011, 03:11 AM Drake
"You did exactly what I thought you to do. Although I would advise you show a little restraint in the future. Next time you might find yourself with someone who has even less self control than you." Drake shook his head at the woman's assumption. "I'm no disciple, and I know exactly what I am doing... Do you?"
***
05-22-2011, 10:20 PM Sahra
Sahra half smiled as the large man dropped his hand as she turned. "So what is it you ARE doing, exactly? Besides taunting me to action then degrading my abilty or reprimanding me for my behavior?" She took the half step closer that forced her to tilt her head up slightly to be able to look him in the eyes still.
"Or do you reprimand me because my reactions are more than you thought a mere disciple capable of?" The defiance and mocking in her voice was clear to anyone listening. But to anyone 'looking' with Force Sense who knew what they were seeing, she was scared. Her self defense was to be a better bully in hopes the bigger bully would step back out of confusion, believing his mark wasn't as frail or easy as he first thought. But in truth, her fear was beginning to surpass her anger...
Anf her Force Aura of power she had spent all morning trying to hone, was slowly crumbling.
***
05-23-2011, 11:50 PM Drake
"I was here to do a little training myself actually. I just didn't expect to find anyone else out here." Drake looked down at the woman standing before him, she exuded an aura of confidence, but he could tell that it was all a facade. The fear she she was hiding was beginning to seep out.
"What's your name disciple... or am I going to have to beat it out of you?"
***
05-23-2011, 11:59 PM Sahra
Sahra smiled, “I would say beat it out of me but I am not sure which of us would have more fun with it.” She laughed softly. “I am Sahra. Sahra Pritath. Dark Destru is my Mentor right now. And I have a desire to be the best, as I am sure everyone does. But apparently I want it more than most.” She stepped back to seem less threatening, not realizing he had already seen thru her facade. “When I left this morning the rest were still in their beds. And I wasn't up as early as I will be in the future. If you don't mind sharing the site with me, I would like to practice someplace other than the designated yard out back.”
She hadn't backed down enough for him to get the impression she was giving up. But she knew diplomacy tactics as well as verbal banter. And sometimes a half retreat made more headway than a full on charge.
***
05-24-2011, 12:53 AM Drake
Oh.. your one of Zephyrus' students. I should have known. Drake chuckled at the thought of Sahra finding any enjoyment out of the kind of beating she might recieve from him. He towered above the woman and looked down on her with a knowing look in his eyes. "I prefer to train in solitude as well, so I can understand where you're coming from. So you're an early riser... how does that make your desire for power greater than anyone elses?"
Drake waited patiently for an answer. It was a trait that not all Sith valued as much as he did. ***
05-24-2011, 01:10 AM Sahra
“Oh, your one of Zephyrus' students. I should have known.”
As he spoke her eyes narrowed slightly. She didn't know one teacher from another but she knew he was teaching her. That was more than she could say for anyone else in the Keep. “Yes, I am one of his.” She misunderstood his reasoning and assumed he thought Destru a bad instructor. “And for the record, he is teaching me well. More than I can say for anyone else around here so far.” She directed the last at him with a bit of flippancy.
“As to proof of my desire... I don't see anyone else practicing outside their Mentor's practice regimes. I also never heard of overachievers named among those who slept idly in in the morning. Somehow I doubt that Force Transference is a trait by which one can become a Lord and Master of the Force.” She smiled at him with a predatory glare that would have shivered most men who knew not what lay behind those eyes.

05-24-2011, 12:17 PM Drake
"Perhaps the reason that you are out here before all of the others, is because you need a little more practice to keep up. It is not the master's job to teach, it is up to the apprentice must glean all they can from them. Whether he is teaching you well or not isn't my concern. I just meant that you share similar personalities. No need to get defensive just yet... disciple"
Drake found her stare amusing. It was she thought she could frighten him into submission. But he knew the truth. It was all an act in the hopes that she could make the Sith Warrior back down. Something that was completely against his nature. ***
05-24-2011, 03:13 PM Sahra
"Let me guess," she almost laughed, "you aren't one to rise early are you?". She chose to ignore his snide comment about her NEEDING the extra practice just to maintain a level with her peers. If she spoke, chances were that nothing good would come out of her lips. And something told her this man could teach her a lot if she let him.
"Let's start off again. I'm Sahra, and you are?" Her smile this time, was still predatroy was more on the alert than defensive side. "And I am sorry I attacked you with my rocks." She grinned once more realizing how dumb that must sound coming from her.
***
05-24-2011, 04:12 PM Drake
"You seem to have trouble thinking before you act. Use your head... I am here before all others, just as you are. I prefer the solitude, over the constant power moves, and bickering of the others of our order." Drake sighed inwardly, wondering how the woman had survived Zephyrus' training with the mouth she had on her.
"Very well... Hello Sahra, I'm Drake. One more thing. Never say you're sorry... It's a sign of weakness. "
***
05-24-2011, 04:27 PM Sahra
“In that case I'm NOT sorry I threw rocks at you.” She glared at him and turned back to the small pile she had kicked together earlier, planning on using Force Pull to move them apart into a single line. She raised her right hand and pointed her fingers towards the pile. Taking a deep breath she moved two from the top to the side, separated them, then placed them at the beginning of the 'line' she was forming.
“You taunt me about my power, then say I shouldn't have hit you, then tell me I shouldn't be sorry.” The next time she moved two rocks, she had lowered her hand about halfway. Two rocks wavered, then lifted together, then separated and settled into the line. Smiling she let her hand drop the rest of the way down to her side. “I won't apologize anymore, if you promise to mean what you say...” She barely twitched her fingers this time as two more rocks rose and hovered. “And say what you mean...” She smiled as she separated them and lined them up with the others.
Taking the time to finally glance back over her shoulder, she grinned maliciously, “And I will consider not tossing objects at you anymore.” She winked teasing and slowly lifted two rocks to the hovering position without even looking at them this time. She would still need to visually see them to line them up, but the rocks hovered without her gaze this time. “Oh yes... and another thing.... I am not practicing because I am far behind my peers.” The rocks hovering behind her, and her aura, once more steady and tightly bound around her, were proof of her words.

"I do and say whatever suits my purposes at the moment. I was just offering you a piece of free advice... do with it what you will." Drake could feel Sahra's aura focusing as she spoke. She seemed to have regained her composure. He watched intently as she lined up the stones perfectly in a row. It was an impressive display. "I'm sure you can line rocks up with the best of them. How bout you write my name with them? That would really show me."
***
05-24-2011, 04:52 PM Sahra
She laughed and turned back to the rocks. Tilting her head a moment, she began to work. Her fingers twitched now and then, but it was the only indication she was doing more than staring at the stones.
One by one the rocks from the pile, and a few extras, were placed here and there in a seemingly random pattern. She wasn't lining them up as if she were writing. She 'saw' his name on the dirt and was merely filling it in.
After about ten minutes, she stepped back to let him see. "I will take your advice and be sure 'my' purposes are served as well." The laugh that followed was almost seductive as she motioned a sweeping bow towards the rocks. What he saw may or may not offend...
Brute was written in the stone markings. It was not perfect, penmanship with inanimate objects rarely was, but it was definitely legible. "Better?" She crossed her arms and smiled awaiting his reaction.
***
05-25-2011, 12:55 AM Drake
After Sahra moved aside, Drake could see that she had decided not to write his name, but something else entirely...Brute.
Oh yes, she was definately one of Zephyrus' students alright. There weren't many beings who had the gall to call him a brute... The last one who did so just happened to be him. Drake was not amused in the slightest. The smirk on his face was quickly replaced by a scowl as he used the force to scatter the stones in all directions throughout the courtyard. He advanced upon Sahra menacingly.
"Do you remember what I said about thinking before you act?"
***
05-25-2011, 01:20 AM Sahra
Sahra backed up a step in the fore of his advance before her stubbornness got the better of her. She flexed her hands and then clenched them tight and pressed with every ounce of her Force in the direction of his chest. Her effort was strained and the power wasn't strong, but it would make him pause... and hopefully more. “I did think. You are a walking conundrum, Warrior Drake. You walk around with this attitude,” she lifted a few of the rocks and drew them closer once more as he closed the distance rapidly, “that no one is as good as you.” When he got close enough, she shoved another hard blast of Force at his chest in hopes of making him realize she was no mere child. The effort was more obvious this time as she growled. “But some of us are gaining on you.”
The effort to shove into his body once more made the hovering rocks fall to the ground as her concentration was unevenly divided. But the shove was impressive from a Disciple. ***
06-01-2011, 09:21 PM Drake
The power behind Sahra's push was enough to stall Drake's advance momentarily, like walking against a strong gust of wind. If she thought that it would be enough to stop him in his tracks, she was sorely mistaken. The warrior pressed onward, even as the disciple attempted a last ditch effort to halt him. He noted that the woman was still speaking, but what she said didn't matter. The force behind Sahra's second push was far greater than the first. So much so, that Drake was forced a couple steps backwards. The woman did have potential to become very powerful one day, and she was well on her way... if she survived that long. The more she antogonized the Korunnai warrior, the slimmer those chances became.
After coming within arms reach, Drake grabbed for the woman, clinching her throat in his massive hand, and lifting her effortlessly off of the ground. He could feel her heart racing as he lifted her to eye level with him. "I could snap your neck.. it would be easy, like breaking a twig in two. I could watch your life force drain away as I slowly choke the life out of you. I could snuff out your life in so many ways... If you think you can stop me, it would be in your best interest to try."

The woman managed to back up one step before the hand closed on her throat and lifted her in the air. Her reflexes kicked in and her arms grabbed his wrist in hopes of holding herself up and not 'hanging' herself as she kicked at him, her aim way to far off in panic to be worth anything. As she gasped for air between the momentary pauses between finger flexings, she managed to cough as the deep set eyes drained of rage and filled swiftly with open fear.
But even then, even on the verge of possible death, her own stubbornness would not allow her to go without a final word. She went very still a moment as her power called once more to mind the rage that such as endeavor as hurling a rock would cost her her life, and it flared to life in her hands. She 'pulled' with all her might at anything behind him that would rise and come at them. The panic, the untaught control and her own thought of it being her final act all fueled the sudden onslaught. It wasn't merely one or two rocks this time, but several that would rise behind him as she managed to choke out a final sentence. The words were garbled, but she had come to realize that fiercely thought words could be heard, even when the voice wasn't used. “But who would you play with then....” The rocks would come flying at him, perhaps a dozen or so. They weren't large, she hadn't concentrated that detail, but they would sting for sure... if they managed to reach him before she blacked out. For the struggle for life had kept her throat tense and less easy to crush. In that moment between going still and now, her throat was slowly collapsing and her gasps for air were more labored. Her eyes flicked a moment even as defiance, rage and fear mingled in her.
She was going to die, she was sure of it... she just wouldn't go out with a whimper.

Drake spun around quickly, bring Sahra with him and using her as a makeshift shield as the stones came sailing towards them. As big as he was, Sahra's form couldn't sheild Drake's whole body, but she took the brunt of the attack while he only sustained a few minor scrapes. After the barrage ended, the Sith Warrior dropped Sahra to the ground in a heap. He knew that she would need a while to catch her breath, and probably wouldn't be able to speak just yet. Maybe now she would hear him as he towered over her.
"If you had conceded to me, I would have killed you. You shouldn't tip your hand so soon. You have to make the people around here doubt what you can do. Whether you are a Disciple or a Knight. You can influence people to attack you when they shouldn't, or not too when they should... Deception. Destru should have taught you at least that much at least."
***
06-03-2011, 11:30 PM Sahra
Sahra's back arched as the rocks hit. She cut the Force off quickly and many dropped around them. Not nearly enough though and she knew her back would be bruised and lightly cut from the barrage. As he dropped her, knees buckled and reflexively her hand went to her surely bruised larynx. Looking up at him, the scorn on her face was full force and had it power, he would surely feel it. “I will... never... concede.” She managed as she rubbed her throat trying to get the tightness out. The growl was pointless as it hurt even more to affect it. She she stopped halfway.
When he spoke of tipping her hand, and learning to influence people's reactions, she bit her lip and looked away. “I have only had one lesson with him. He has not had the opportunity.” She spoke a little softer, not from intimidation, but it kept her voice steadier. She also didn't add that she hadn't the forethought to keep some of her power hidden. A lot didn't occur to her. And it was that ignorance that angered her even more. She knew that not knowing the question to ask didn't make her less knowledgeable, but to her... it was all she had to be angry at. No point in being angry at Destru, it wasn't his fault she was a hard headed woman who wanted everything now.
She swallowed what was left of her pride and looked up at him. “Will you teach me as well? Is that allowed? To learn from more than one teacher? I know Zephyrus is busy. Surely he would not mind. I will ask him first, if you prefer.” She grit her teeth and managed to rise, she remembered Zeph's lesson in pain blocking and used the anger at being hurt to help bolster her blocking technique. She managed to make the pain in her throat manageable, and the pain in her back disappear for now. Looking him dead in the eyes she stood full height, “I want to learn more... will you teach me?”
There was a shiver to her aura, an untrained shifting edge as she tried to hold the Force together enough to do what she wanted. She just hoped he didn't want to keep fighting. She doubted she could manage to block the pain and fight as well.
***
06-04-2011, 03:12 AM Drake
"I am in no position to teach anyone, I have not yet earned the right. Besides, I doubt Destru would stand for it... I wouldn't." Drake continued to eye Sahra callously as she rose to her feet. She could barely lift herself up, let alone try to attack him again. Maybe the hard headed woman had finally learned something after all. There just might be hope for her yet."What does it matter how busy your master is? If you want to learn... learn. As I told you before, it is not anyone's responsibility to teach you. If you expect to grow stronger the responsibility lies with you. Power is not freely given around here, and No one is going to hold your hand, and the sooner you realize that, the better."
***
06-05-2011, 10:24 PM Sahra
She laughed softly, though the maniacal edge to it wasn't lost. “Destru, as you say, would manage. I will not have him, or anyone for that matter, tell me who can and cannot teach me. I will learn from whatever sources I can get my grubby little paws on. And if he doesn't like it, then I will find someone who appreciates tenacity and perseverance.” She listened to the rest and nodded. “I understand. And while I know it is no one's responsibility, per se, there is still a level of guidance I desire. That is not asking someone to hold my hand.” Her arms crossed over her ample bosom as she continued. “Asking someone to teach you isn't asking to be coddled. I want someone to show me, as Destru did, that there are things I can become capable of. Show me the skill, TEACH me... I will learn the levels on my own.”
She tilted her head and looked at him thru half narrowed eyes. “You don't like Zephyrus very much, do you?” She grinned like a cat licking cream and watched his reaction. ***
06-05-2011, 11:37 PM Drake
Having said all he cared to on the matter of teaching her, Drake chose to ignore Sahra's further arguments. He could not teach her and would not risk his place in the Sith Empire in an attempt to do so. When the time came that he could, if she still wished it, he might reconsider. But until then, in Drake's eyes, the subject was closed.
Drake wasn't quite sure how everyone came to the conclusion that Drake had ill feelings toward Zephyrus. Sahra was not the first of Destru's students to assume that. True, he had no love for the man, but he didn't necessarily dislike him either. It was their distinct personalites that caused them to clash in the past."We've butted heads once or twice, but it's not like I feel the need to challenge him to a duel to the death."

Sahra nodded and looked at him smiling. “Then my apologies,” she then added with a half growl, “And NO that apology does NOT make me weak... it makes me well mannered. Deal with it!” She laughed winking and stretched her back unlocking her arms to rub at the sore spots she felt. The bruises would surely look lovely come tomorrow morning.
“So tell me, Drake... who is YOUR mentor? Do you butt heads with him and well?” She laughed softly and shifted her body slightly and began reassembling the rocks that were strewn about. She wriggled her fingers slightly, again trying to resist the urge to physically point at every stone. As the stones slowly gathered two by two and three by three, she bit her lip absently trying to move her fingers less and look at him more. If she was in charge of her own learning, why not do it at every moment she got the chance. The splitting of her attention, between the conversation and the rocks, was as good a place as any to begin. She slowly began piling the rocks on the offense moniker she had scryed of Drake just moments before.
Odd how it already seemed so long ago. Glancing between the rocks and Drake, she asked of him, “So besides PULL, SPEED and PAIN BLOCK... what other powers do you possess? I ask because I am curious what other things I have to look forward to. I am sure there are things I will learn that even shock me.” She laughed though the nervousness at what that future held made her aura, and thusly the rocks, waver for a moment before she grit her teeth, clenched her hands and regained control. Then she looked back up at him as he reacted and replied.
***
06-10-2011, 12:46 AM Drake
Oh, so NOW you're well mannered?
Drake's thoughts were not spoken aloud, but Sahra would hear them none the less as he was projecting them through the force. He was not unaware that she had been gathering stones to reform her annoying insult on the ground once again. Drake let out an audible sigh.
I would advise you to stop now... My patience is dwindling, and I might not be able to stop myself from killing you again. Lord Icarus is my master, and as of yet, we haven't had any conflicts besides during my training. Eventually the time will come when I outgrow him. But for now we see eye to eye. Aside from this, I have been trained in the use of resonate, shield, leap, and throw.
***
06-10-2011, 12:54 AM Sahra
Sahra listened and nodded. Someday she knew she would outgrow Zephyrus the same way. Though, perhaps, every disciple thought that of their Mentor at some point. Doesn't every child think to outgrow and pass beyond their parents?
She felt him in her mind and tried to respond in kind. But she still didn't have the skill and the words, though clear in his head were also whispered from her lips unconsciously. “I am well mannered when it suites me. Same as you.”
Out loud she responded the rest, as the pain in her head reminded her she needed practice there. “I understand shield, leap and throw. But what is 'resonate'? I know you cannot teach me. But will you show me?” She let the rocks hover. She still hadn't decided if she should tug them towards him or not. “Even if you can't tell or show me how you do it, seeing it done will allow me to have another goal.” She smiled. “Besides, if you kill me, besides probably angering several Masters around here, besides Lord Icarus and Zephyrus, you will have no one to pick on tomorrow.” She smiled all sugar sweetness at him and winked. “I doubt most of those around here are as feisty and picky as I am... if they are, then there is more than one treasure within these walls.” She laughed and carefully settled one stone on the top of his boot just to see if she could.

The rock balanced on the tip of Drake’s boot suddenly leapt upward into his open hand. He studied for a moment as though he was concentrating and then tossed it nonchalantly over his shoulder. “I do not employ my powers for the amusement of others… disciple. Prove yourself valuable to the Sith, and I might show you a thing or two. Until then be content that you still draw breath.” Drake smirked as a thought occurred to him. ”Unless you think you can force my hand. In which case, by all means…”
Drake spread his arms out in an open invitation. Part of him hoped that she would take the bait. The part that cared little for what consequences might await him, if he pushed his little game too far. She was right about one thing though… she was fun to play with.

Sahra watched the rock fly up and couldn't suppress a grin. She had seen the Force lines dance between them and had felt his tug of the rock 'from her' as if he had swiped it from her hand. That was interesting, she mused to herself.
Raising an eyebrow, she crossed her arms and was impressed with herself and surprised that the rocks didn't waver. “You do realize you will make a lousy teacher someday?” She half laughed at him and one hip cocked to the side in almost boredom as she mentally shifted the rocks slightly. She would have to try something bigger next time. In the last week or so, rocks were becoming less trial worthy of her. However, this encounter was already opening doors she hadn't considered. Such as she didn't have to necessarily point or even wriggle fingers at the objects she was manipulating. Sure, it was easier, but not a necessity. That helped her a lot. “So how am I supposed to force your hand, if I may ask?” She lifted her chin suddenly, unconsciously tugging the rocks swiftly towards them. Though, unless he could tell, she had changed their direction. She had them come not straight at him, but to channel themselves between his legs to land on his feet. She only hoped it would work and not back fire and sail straight to her. She tried to make them come swiftly between his legs, hover a moment then drop onto his boots.
She dropped her gaze from his, probably a mistake in hindsight, but found a need to concentrate. Her fists, folded under her arms, were clenched in concentration at the quick trick she hoped to pull off.

"You might be right... Then again it might be that you are just a lousy student." Sahra was continuing to manipulate the stones behind him through the force. He could feel them floating just above ground level. His eyes gleamed as he shrugged in answer to her last question. "Surprise me. Although I think we have already established that throwing stones will not help you..."
As the rocks came flying from behind him, he made no attempt to block them. She was not trying to harm him, she just acting cute. It was fitting because the woman was cute. So instead of slowing their momentum, Drake used his own power to augment it. The stones continued to fly forwards gaining altitude as they sailed directly towards Sahra's face. Before they struck her, Drake stopped them completely and allowed them to hang in the air momentarily before dropping them at her feet.
"Would you not agree?"

Sahra wasn't going to flinch, she wasn't going to flinch... at the last second, thinking she couldn't stop them, she put her arm up and the smallest yelp escaped. It swiftly turned to a growl as she felt the pull of him stopping the stones. She dropped her arms, fists clenched and glared with a stare, that had she the power, would have been more than formidable. “Perhaps I shall just kick you in the shin. See how something physical affects you.” She took several steps towards him with just that intention.
He had pushed the buttons, he had caused her to flinch. She wasn't going to let that pass with a simple agreement that she had been foolish.

Clearly he had struck a nerve. Now they were finally getting somewhere. As Sahra approached him Drake decided to see just how mad he could make her. Taking on a sarcastic tone, he began to mock her as she neared him. "Aww... you look cute when you're mad."
After closing the disatnce between them, she did kick Drake in the shin... she tried to anyway. But rather than let Sahra reach him, he reached out to her through the force and lifted her into the air. Withut a second's hesitation he hurled across the courtyard.
"I think not."

Being untrained was sometimes a hindrance. But partially trained also sometimes came in handy. As she cried out as she was hurled across the courtyard, it dawned on her to 'push' back as she flew, hoping to stop her rapid decent towards the hard earth. It didn't stop her, she wasn't that good yet, but it did slow her enough to keep her neck from snapping back and her head from cracking on the hard packed, neglected soil. She surprised even herself then as she half launched, half ran towards him in blind madness. All her training of calm, calculated moves was gone. Pure rage ran thru her now and the speed she lunged with would have surprised even her, had she been of a mind to pay attention. She balled her fists and aimed for his gut. She hoped being low enough would keep him from being able to simply strong arm her back.
If she connected, double fists with more than twice her body weight would slam into him. It's what she wanted, desired and ached for in that moment till, half way towards him, her vision cleared to that small area of his stomach she wanted to impact. The growl fell silent, the rage focused to near blinding sharpness and her sneer disappeared into a face of almost eerie calm as she tightened her fists for impact... not realizing her fingers would probably be sprained in the act as well. She lifted her eyes as if in slow motion, though the Force speed she had was anything but.

Sahra used the force to greatly diminish the impact of her landing. Her growing power was impressive, but what she did next was not. All pretext of manners was tossed aside, as she charged at him with surprising swiftness. Her attack was straightforward with no thought of planning at all.
The Korun Sith resisted the urge to block Sahra's incoming attack, just to fuel the growing rage inside of her. Instead he simply side stepped her strike and turned to watch her continue forward, hitting nothing but air. "Don't let your anger blind you. It can be a weapon or it can be a weakness if you let it." ***
06-11-2011, 12:34 PM Sahra
At the moment of perfect clarity, Sahra had been watching his Froce aura for hint he would lash out to strike her down. She hadn't been prepared for him to simply side step her. Thankfully, she had been watching. So instead of stumbling to her knees, as she would have done even a week ago, she managed to run about a stride and a half past him before coming to a halt, standing up fully and clenching her fists to the side.
She kept her back to him and closed her eyes a moment. There was no way to argue this time. There was no rock throwing, no lashing out, no name calling.
He was right.
He had goaded her and won. He had pushed all the right buttons and in the end, all her carefully laid plans from hours ago on the thought of 'what if she was ever attacked' had dwindled to nothing more than pure, untrained rage.
She took a couple deep breaths, turned to face him and nodded. “You are right.” She added nothing more, said nothing more, merely stared at him to see his reaction. She watched his aura swim around him with a calm restraint that led her to believe at any moment, that swirling maelstrom of color would focus to a single pinpoint purpose. Without flickering her eyes, she could see her own aura, flitting, swarming, swelling then diving like the oceans of Naboo in a furious winter storm. There was no rhyme or reason, no purpose to it. She took a couple more deep breaths and felt the aura settle. It wasn't so much 'at the ready' as Drake's was, but at least it wasn't burning itself up uselessly. Deep, dark eyes focused back on Drake, though her gaze had never truly left him. She had lied... he was a good teacher.
But she'd never tell him that.

Drake watched Sahra intently as she stood with her back on him, ready to retaliate should she decide to attack him again. He smiled as he watched her calm herself down, but by the time she turned to face him the smile had faded away completely. Drake's pale green eyes gleamed as he stared back at the woman. "Of course I am."

Sahra hadn't seen his smile so never gave a thought that it had even occurred. “Are you always so arrogant?” She crossed her arms and shifted her weight so her hip stuck out. It gave her a confident, yet bored, look but if he knew what to look for, she had not completely let down her guard.
She was still balanced slightly on both feet and would not topple easily, but could move swiftly in any direction if it was needed. And she was already calming herself and beginning to pull the Force back around her as she had been when he first saw her... ready and calm.
If he thought about it, the gambit of emotions and power fluxing that had transpired since he had first gazed at her was actually amazing. She was trained, it was obvious. But what wasn't obvious is that despite how swiftly she had lost control, the swiftness with which she had regained it was even more astonishing. She had not beat herself up, whimpered, or cowered before him. She had picked herself up by her proverbial boot straps and had prepared herself once more for whatever was about to come.
“If you will not teach me, will you at least explain to me the other powers I will eventually be able to choose from, learn and eventually Master? Or is that beneath you too?” She raised an eyebrow to show more jest than insult to the comment but hoped something would come of it. She was learning, swiftly, that not all the things she thought the Force was limited to, was truly all of it.

Drake continued to study Sahra as she she reagined her focus. She had recovered her control more quickly than he had expected, already on guard for another attack... even though she had been the aggresor the whole time. The Korun Sith Warrior had learned all he needed to about the disciple, She was talented, even if she was still raw and unfocused.
"It's not arrogance. It's the truth." Drake made no attempt to hide his condescending smirk this time around. Still Sahra asked for explainations, and still she spouted off insults while doing so. "I guess I can do that much at least. Resonate allows allows a person to send a vibrating resonance into an object or area of material, causing it to explode in most cases." ***

Sahra watched him grin and laughed. “The truth huh? Very well.. I doubt I will get any other response if I were to argue that point.” She laughed sincerely and while her stance relaxed some, she still maintain a level of vigilance and readiness that would impress anyone able to see such in a person.
As he explained resonance, her body shifted and her head tilted slightly. Someone watching from beyond the pair speaking might wonder if she were trying to hear something further away than the voice of the man before her. In truth, her mind was listening. She was hearing beyond his words into the image she could almost feel coming from him. A field, like a bubble, emanating from a person and growing in such a way as to actually 'shake' objects into pieces... The thought brought a rare smile to her face that touched her eyes just briefly and lightened them a moment before she refocused on Drake and her face was back to how it was moments before. “An interesting skill. Ever seen it used on a person before? Seems to me if you can 'shake' something apart from the inside, like my stones,” she nodded to those bouncing lightly around him as she tried to split her focus between them and her conversation, “then reason has it that you could actually shake someone apart from the inside. Perhaps addle their brain or something equally disturbing...” Her voice trailed off a bit as she silently contemplated such things. ***
