OOC: Takes place immediately after "A great opportunity".
After the meeting broke and everyone was given their planning and preparation assignments, there was nothing left to do... but... well... plan and prepare. However Arestul was going to do what he had been dreading for days now, wishing it wasn't befallen to him to do so, he realized that if he didn't, it wouldn't get done. The thought of the chore was what he identified with for some time now, it gave him reason, it gave him purpose. Now he doesn't have any reason, purpose or excuse not to. So...
... he went to his office.
Sure, not a bad thing by any means, but considering he didn't like sitting behind a desk, it was murder for Arestul to walk to it. The secretary "Suzette" was nice, nice and old, which meant that Tyria wouldn't have reason to break her nails in the woman's eyes.
Ha! That was funny...
Really? Thanks! I just... oh wait... She was also organized which meant that his office didn't have to have any files in it. It could say basic and plain, just the way he wanted. Arestul didn't want any pomp or circumstance or flash to a place he wouldn't be in much, not to mention he felt awkward, since it might look like he was spending Republic budgets on personal effects... something he abhors.
Of course walking into the office, he saw that Tyria was here, and spent more of his money, not that he minded either. The office had leather seats, an expensive desk, pictures, especially an erodium framed picture of her on the middle of the desk, and one of them at their wedding at the back wall. Her way of saying "Back off!" to any women who entered the room. His personal little holovid player was there too. Not to mention a written note.
"You know you love it when I do this...
XOXOXOXO"
With a smile, Arestul turned the player on to show images of his father, one who he was the spitting image of.
OOC: People have said they want to congratulate the man... here's your chance if you want

Old 03-03-2012, 09:46 AM Ranooki Reese
(ooc - just passing by, I promise I ain't stalking you!)
With the war now declared, the situation had only got crazier in the Republic, and Ranooki Reese had had no time for herself, as repairs and check ups of the available crafts in the Navy had taken over even more of her time, though she hadn't thought that it was possible! She was glad to serve and be able to help as much as she could. That was actually while she had been upside down trying to fix an old fighter that could still do good, that she had heard the news. Heck, she had even banged her head into the metal opening as she had peered up to ask for confirmation of what had happened in the leadership.
She had been quite surprised that the High General moved to the politics field, but didn't question such things, as it wouldn't impact on her job as much as the new Supreme Commander that had just been appointed would. She had grinned and felt that things were looking good when she was told who had taken the spot. After having met the hairless wookie a few times, she knew that he was a great choice.
She had wondered for a moment whether she would go and congratulate him herself, as she wasn't sure that a grease covered mechanics was the kind they wanted to see in the spotless offices upstairs, but deep down she knew it was the right thing to do. That was how the Cadet arrived and could tell that some looks were just what the heck, about what she might be doing there.
Stopping at the threshold, she almost didn't dare knocking, even though she had made sure to clean her hands at least. It wasn't as if she could get away more than twenty minutes away from her duties. She coughed and peered inside the room since the door wasn't closed so much.
"Supreme Commander Angellus?"
Standing straight and at the ready, she waited for her presence to be acknowledged.

Twiddling his thumbs as he looked outside, he had heard the title he really didn't want to be associated with. Sure, "Supreme Commander" was his job, but that was it, a job. He was a sailor, moreso he was a man, a husband, and soon to be father. He didn't want this to be his identity like it was dad's, no, no this would be different... just like his dad said when he was promoted to Admiral. Watching some street crews repaint some speeder landing pads, Arestul didn't really hear the door open, just Reese.
Ah, Reese... come on in. Thanks for getting back to me... ready to come back? Ready to fly for a purpose?
Someone is going to have to tell him how to tell the two sisters apart.

Old 03-04-2012, 08:08 AM Ranooki
As she took a small step inside, Ranooki couldn't help catching the woman's touch in the office, and she found it nice. While she didn't know much about Angellus's wife, she was always glad when a military still managed to have some private life despite the harsh life they lived.
As he obviously mistook her for her twin again, she couldn't help laughing. Maybe one day they should both show up in uniforms, just to see how he could manage. Grinning, she casually looked at her superior.
"Just ready to fix all the ships that need it, sir. I ain't the fancy flyer of the family, but the grease covered one. But thought I'd come and congratulate you for the promotion nonetheless."

Arianna sighed. So much was happening, again... First she thinks she had ruined her career, only to get promoted to Republic One, and now there is war, promotions, missing interns and the whole galaxy falling to bits around their ears.
Knowing she owed the man at least a good bottle of liquor, she grabbed the badly wrapped box and headed for Arestel's office. She knew the man hated formalities so she didn't bother changing from her hanger uniform. She had been working on the birds the last three days trying to fix as many as she could. She knew this particular job was beneath her station now as air boss of Republic One, but it was easier to just dig in with both hands and show others as well as help out when times were tight. With a smudge of grease on her face, hair whisping around her face as it began to come loose around the edges of her braid and her uniform obviously not in the greatest shape. She had tucked her shirt in, but as it looked like she had slept in it, it did little to help.
Coming down the hallway in the direction indicated at last query, she heard his voice and smiled. It had been a while since she had seen him. She waited outside his office while he finished with his current visitor.

Augh!
Being a little melodramatic but more self deprecating than anything, Arestul threw his hands into the air and then reached into his pocket pulling out a personal recording device.
Not to self, order first name badges for the twins.
He wasn't lying, he had no clue which was which unless they identified themselves, which would make his life (censored) if they both worked on the same ship with him.
Why do you gotta foreshadow?
Sitting back in his chair and folding his arms over each other, Arestul just flared his nostrils.
Well then Lieutenant... you sick of being on the ground?
Glaring out the window of the door, Arestul didn't let her answer... he got up and went to the door itself and opened. Of course this caused a stir with those walking by until they realized who it was, Angellus was always a verbal buzzsaw but now he was the boss and they had to just keep walking.
Why are you out here?
Ever unimpressed, Suzette just quirked an eyebrow and ran a blonde strand of hair behind her ear. "Well obviously she's waiting to see you, sir." No real verbal filter, the woman was just what he needed, someone to keep him in his place when he needed to be. Arestul then looked at Tallen.
Will you come in here?! This isn't the Principal's office!
***
Old 03-04-2012, 10:37 PM Arianna
Arianna laughed. “Indeed I am. And the way you rant sometimes, I wonder if 'Principle' isn't a more fitting title for you.” She laughed again and nodded as she followed him back into the office. Seeing the woman there, and not knowing her, she switched the package from right hand to left, rubbed her palm on her pants to clean the surface grease off and offered her hand to the woman. “I am Arianna, sorry to interrupt.” The woman was a greasy as she was and it brought a smile to her face. She hadn't given her rank or last name because, like the man beside her, she wasn't worried about titles. What mattered was getting things done and getting them done right. No point in worrying the woman if she didn't know who she was.
“Seems like grease monkey day in the boss's office, eh?” She smirked and glanced at Arestul waiting to see his reaction to her comments.

Ranooki couldn't help grinning at Angellus's reaction and the note he recorded. Now that was one smart idea for sure! Granted, she could see Taylor say they could swap badges just for fun. Technically they were too old for this kind of pranks, but sometimes old habits died hard. Oh well, time would tell what they came up with! Granted, with war upon them, it was unlikely they had time to see each other and scheme as such.
"Or just look for the name tag that is covered with grease. If you can't read the name it'd be me, sir!"
Grinning, she suddenly blinked when he called her Lieutenant. Wh...What? Did she just hear well? The last thing she had expected was a promotion, and she was still too much in shock to turn giddy yet! And he didn't let her time to say anything, as he went to speak to his secretary and another woman outside. She followed, still processing the news.
"Hi, I'm Ranooki, pleasure to meet you."
Her smile at the other mechanics, which made her happy to see, was genuine and she chuckled at the comment regarding grease monkeys.
"The conspiracy of the mechanics! Must be something like that!"
Chuckling, she then looked at Angellus and grinned.
"By the way, thank you, sir! I take it that I can easily file for transfer now?"
They had talked about her transferring to his ship back then, but she didn't know whether she was still likely to hit the position on Republic One by now. Double checking didn't hurt. No matter how she hates paperwork, she was used to it to a certain degree when checking reports and logs of various kinds.

Oh NOW you ticked me off...
He thought that Cadet Talien, given the responsibility that she had on his ship would curb her disrespectful little attitude. Obviously it didn't and he wasn't going to take it either, however unlike previous responses he wasn't going to go off on her. No, she was going to see the Admiral, not the Lieutenant Commander. However he had the Lieutenant to respond to first.
Transfer when you're ready Lieutenant. Cadet Talien will report to you, however be wary of her attitude though as she is quick to be insubordinate she does have potential.
Not even looking at Talien, his comment was indeed directed at her. Reply With Quote

Arianna couldn't believe her ears... 'cadet'! Honestly, the man must have been thru more than she thought in the last month given that he would have put her in her spot about the 'Principal' comment earlier, but wouldn't have simply rubbed her lower rank in by making it so blatent in front of another. Sure, she was a Cadet... but she was an Airboss. And while her rank was low, her position wasn't lowly.
So this was The Admiral. If that was the case, she would show him she had been through a lot the last month as well. Nodding to the man first, because of rank, she set the package on the desk. “As you say, Admiral. Forgive my intrusion again.” She looked him in the eye with strenth and not the defiance she knew he was used to seeing from her. This time she wasn't slinking away with her tail between her legs. Her head was high and her chin set. This was a mature woman knowing when to keep her mouth shut before she was truly demoted... though demoted to what rank that may be, she had no desire in investigating. “And congratulations again on your promotion. It is well deserved.”
Turning to the Lt. she smiled and nodded. “It will be a pleasure to work with you, I am sure. I can be found in Republic One's hanger deck. Simply ask for Tink and I am sure you will find me.”
She snapped to attention and saluted Arestul. “Cadet Talien requesting to return to duty, Sir.” He claimed she was insubordinate, so she would do this by the book. Two officers in discussion surely didn't want some cadet hanging around. She would depart back to the bay and prepare the office for whoever would be taking her place. She just wish she knew what had caused such a change in him. There was a time a slap on the wrist would have been sufficient. Oh well, no point in lamenting now. She would continue her job regardless of her rank. It was service that meant something to her, not the rank on her collar. Still at attention she waited for her dismissal.

While Ranooki could say the wrong thing at the wrong moment, and lack manners, one thing she wouldn't do was to interfere between the Admiral and the Cadet as the brunette likely stepped out of line. That wasn't her place to say one thing, and so she remained silent, only speaking when addressed.
"I will do so, sir. I heard that your new flagship was to change due to your promotion. Is there one you'd rather have me transferred to?"
She knew from experience that when switching ships in cases of promotion, certain higher ranks liked to have people they knew staying or transferring to their previous ships, some prefer to gather a crew upon the new one. That was only fair to ask.
When the brunette addressed her, she looked at her and nodded.
"We will meet again soon then, Cadet Talien."

Quirking an eyebrow he wondered "How did she know about that?" but it was no matter she was going with him.
You're transferring to my flag so whichever ship I'm on, you're going to, no need to worry about that Reese.
It was true, there were a few he would take with him no matter where he went, Redeker did it, Ivey did it, Fiore did it. Nowadays though there had to be a more professional atmosphere and those who didn't understand would need to, they were at war, and changing command during this. That made things even more tough on Angellus, he was never one to warrant others to be sociable towards him, he was here to work and so were they. He was however one to accept anything.
Cadet, I'm not dismissing you as you were here for a reason, so get over yourself, she transferred to my flag just like you did. You're still the airboss so techs in the launch bay report to you, you report to her.
All she had to do was approach him initially like she did right now.
When you started on my ship, you wanted respect in regards to your new position, correct? I'm simply doing the same thing and while your intentions may have been well meaning, others walking the halls hearing you claiming how I should be a principal... well it opens a box that needs to remain closed.

Air nodded and managed to relax just a bit. They were all going through rough times and now was truly not the time for her to snipe. “I understand, Sir. My apologies. I will try and think before mouthing off next time.”
Nodding to Reese, she smiled. “You can still always just ask for 'Tink'. It's my nickname down there and keeps the techs on their toes since some knew me as Hanger Chief in Rogue Squadron prior to this assignment. I look forward to seeing you down there.” Looking to Arestul, she smiled again.
“I did come with a purpose, Sir. One was to congratulate you. The other was to ask if you had a moment to discuss if there was anything in particular you needed done with regards to rosters and equipment transfers? If any were needed, that is.” She knew he would be finalizing the transfer to his permanent ship soon. Many Commanding officers took their personal crafts, fighters, or shuttles with them because they knew and trusted not just the equipment, but the pilots who flew them as well. Discretion was a hard thing to train into someone, and having a pilot who never questioned shuttle destinations was a golden ticket in some arenas. She knew enough to know that in the coming days, discretion on movements would be crucial. Starting now and making them seem routine or even necessary for redistribution of the fleet would make things easier.
She had grown up quite a bit since joining Rep1. It was time she proved it. After all, surprising him was something she enjoyed more than most things in life.

Words were traveling fast even in the hangars on the military HQ on Telos itself. That was why Ranooki had wanted to clear things with the Admiral. She beamed and nodded when he said that she'd follow on his command ship. She was pretty excited about it, and was glad about the opportunities to serve.
"Thank you, sir. I'll work on my transfer within the next days."
Looking at the other girl, a cadet with a crazy load of work and responsibility like she had been herself, she grinned.
"I'm looking forward working with you. If you ever heard about the sleepless one who scares everyone in the hangar of the HQ here, it'd have to be me. I don't care about shifts when the job needs to be done."
While she was happy at the thought of working with a fellow dutiful mechanics, she believed that saying straight away certain things wouldn't hurt either, since this girl would report to her. Returning her attention to Angellus, she smiled.
"Except if you have other matters to discuss, I'd request permission to leave, sir. The teams need to be briefed before I transfer."

Ari had been about to say something then remembered she was being good this time. "Thank you, Sir." She saluted again not knowin if he would see it or acknowledge it, turned on her heels, with a winkto Ranooki, and headed into the hall with a quiet, "See you soon, Lieutenant," tossed over her shoulder.
No point in staying since she knew she had things to see to as well. Se looked forward to running into Ranooki again. It seemed like they would get along. She would just have to remember to crb her tongue more often. Republic One wasn't the Rgue Hanger, and she wasn't just a Naval grunt mechanic anymore. While Arestul may not see it yet, those within the hange were seeing it... she had taken becoming Airboss very seriouly. Still quick with a joke, she was taking this job a bit more seriously.
She headed back to her station hoping things hadn't gotten too far gone with her absent.

Union had been back on Telos for a time but had only now recovered from injuries enough to greet her new boss. The fact that Torr went political and Darc resigned from the 22nd TSF had blown her mind, really. The Devil Dog knew the life of a sniper was the only one for her. She was fiercely dedicated to the Republic's cause and knew that whoever was in power above her was there for a reason. The NR doesn't just pick these leaders out of a hat. They were chosen for their leadership skills, high intelligence, and strategic abilities among other things.
As her combat boots carried her inside, she removed her BDU cap as was customary. Union navigated her way towards the Admiral's office and stopped before his secretary's desk.
"Ma'am, may I see the Admiral when he has time? I'm Union Jaeger, member of the Devil Dogs."

Suzette, ever the pragmatic just smiled, stood up and waved her in silently. Sure, by protocol she would normally buzz the woman in but she didn't par attention as the "kid" really had nothing to say to her that affected her. Letting the woman walk would be a fun way to get a rise out of the Admiral, not that he would do anything anyway. Walking her in, Suzette only walked into the doorway and held it open showing it was her doing, this "non-buzz", not to take it out on the cadet. Of course when did Arestul ever really follow protocol?
Sitting back and with index finger on his temple and his thumb on his chin, Arestul could only ask.
Who are you? What do you want, and how does it affect me?
Of course he already knew the answers to all of them, she was Union Angel Creed Jaeger Smith Brocolomite Jolie Pitt whatever... she was no doubt wanting to get back to work. Of course this was a different military than the one she left...

OOC: rofl @ Union Angel Creed Jaeger Smith Brocolomite Jolie Pitt XD
As she was walked to the Admiral's office, her hazel eyes took note of her new boss' enviroment. "Nice," she thought as her mind touched the sad little office she once had as XO of the Devil Dogs. When Mr. Angellus rattled off three questions, she knew he was a man with no time for bull. Union respected that.
"Sir, I'm Cadet Jaeger. I'd like to return from medical leave to full active duty."
She thought about congratulating the Admiral on his new position but the Devil Dog didn't feel she should presume that her congrats were wanted. Until now, Angel had never met this man. She had heard him spoken of but before today Jaeger wouldn't have known him from one of Darksands flyboys.
"I have my release forms from Dr. Wiez," she said pulling the forms from one of the leg pockets of her BDUs.
***
Old 03-30-2012, 10:45 PM Angelus
Taking and looking over the forms for what appeared to be an eternity, Arestul set them down and looked up as he sat back. Relaxing as his eyes flickered between her and the chair in front of her, the Admiral let her take a seat for a few moments before giving his own thoughts on the matter. He didn't like bull and he didn't give it.
Well, consider yourself back, but you're going to have to speak to Colonel Leonida in regards to assignment. You've been away awhile and while this wasn't your fault obviously, I can't just put you back in a SpecForce spot without making sure you're up for it.
This was one of his pet peeves about how things had gone... to him it means something to be in the military in each position and if someone deserved to be where they are they shouldn't be ejected by someone returning. Of course if someone was on medical leave it's not fair to them to just say "no" without letting them prove their worth.

Union took the seat in front of her and waited for the Admiral's response. She understood her leave meant that she had returned to a different military. The Devil Dog could accept that and adapt.
"Thank you, sir. I understand completely. As long as I'm with the Devil Dogs, I am content."
Jaeger knew she's have to prove her worth, but she also knew that she could be just as content without returning to her old position. The soldier wouldn't presume her worth to the NR like that. It just wasn't who Angel was as a person.
"I appreciate your time, sir and I apologize if I caused any inconvience," she said assuming this conversation and meeting was nearing the end. "Is there anything else required of me, paperwork-wise, that I need to address before seeing the Colonel?"

If you were wasting my time I would have told you by now.
"Ain't that the truth!" could be heard from the receptionist's office, it was Suzette and he just glared in that direction and then back at Jaeger with a "tell anyone of this and I'll make sure you're somewhere you'd never want to be" look. The "Suzette" matter aside, he spun around a datapad for her to sign.
Sign this and you're done.
