Llewel Pindragin
Llewel had made sure her shirt was tight and tucked in, her pants perfectly creased and her hair set off her collar as if she were in uniform. She was attractive enough to pass for an intern, and sure enough to pass for a pilot... but these were not her callings.
Stepping into the recruiting office, she gave the woman behind the desk her name and took the data stick offered. Plugging it into her own palm pad, she downloaded her credentials, application and statistical data in a moment then handed the stick back. Unlike many here, she knew that coming prepared with the data made things move a bit smoother and swiftly. Moving out of the path of people coming and going, she placed her back to the wall and watched.
Within a few moments she knew what she needed to know. The far door led to another hallway and probably more offices, that meant another exit route. The door just behind the secretary was an office on its own. Probably a dead end, though possibly an exit there. Too risky to guess at, though. Better to not use it in an emergency. Of those in the room, the ones for the Navy seemed to out number those interested in an Army career. It didn't surprise her. Being in the Army wasn't everyone's cup of tea.
Another thing she noticed... the women all seemed dressed for more than military requests. She doubted they were 'all' here for internships with the Republic. That meant that some of those here in short skirts, flirty dresses and heels unsuited for running in a firefight, were here for Navy and Army positions. It troubled her that they would come that way. Her own attire was professional, but practical for the job desired. And the knife in her boot gave her an edge should she need it.
Her hair was chestnut brown and hung to the middle of her back. But the intricate braid kept it off her collar and out of her way. It was flattering, but flat enough to fit beneath a cover (hat) should it be needed. He pants were slightly loose to look flattering as well, but close enough to her skin to not be a hindrance should she need to crouch or leg sweep someone. A small grin crept up her lightly crimson colored lips. Leave it to her to pick a wardrobe based on possible combat maneuvers.
Emerald eyes and a frame perfectly suited to creeping in the underbrush were her most striking features. Someone once told her emerald eyes had a glint to them that aided in night vision. Most eyes of green, blue and gold seemed better suited to night vision than hazel, browns and deep violet. She wasn't sure why, she only knew that for her, it was true. She wanted to be a sniper in the Republican Army. It was all she had trained for since primary school and here she was, awaiting her chance to make that dream come true. Crossing her arms to seem almost nonchalant, she continued to watch the room, size up those she would be going up against and awaited her chance to move from this room into those beyond.

Excapus Leonida
The Chief of Army Operations Excapus Leonida never really was in the recruitment office very often. With the recent declarations of war and the preparations for the next attack on the Empire have kept him very busy. He still wanted to see what fresh faces were willing to lend their hand to defend the Republic. However, nowadays he would wear his civilian attire in the recruiting office rather than his uniform, to hide his rank. He donned a brown fedora, and a blue button up polo that tucked into his khaki pants that he didn't care to iron that morning. The recruitment office was filled nearly to the brim with brave souls. This sight put a smile on the colonel's face. The more the better.
One potential recruit stood caught the colonel's eyes. His heterochrome (the condition he had with his pupils) eyes looked towards a neatly dressed woman, almost wearing her clothes like a uniform. She looked like she was needed on the political front, not the battlefront. That didn't matter. Excapus asked the private at the desk to bring the woman up.
"Yes sir, I'll call her up now," the private replied promptly, "Llewel Pindragin, the recruiting officer will see you now."
Excapus grabbed the nearby datapad and brought up the information on Ms. Pindragin. He nodded at the datapad with approval before sitting down, waiting for the new recruit to approach.

Llewel
Llewel heard her name and smiled. “Show time...” she mentally muttered and stepped towards the desk. She stepped to the desk and nodded. “I am Llewel Pindragin.” Her reply was met with a nod towards the man at the desk with her datapad entries. Moving over to him, she stopped before his desk and nodded once more in respect. “Llewel Pindragin, Sir. Thank you for seeing me, Mr. Leonida.”
She had chestnut hair*, neatly coiffed, and hazel eyes that while they were green flecked now with mild anxiety, could easily shift to blue edged or golden flaked depending on mood. Her attire, while slightly casual, was also impeccable. Every button aligned, every crease crisp and every seam straight. She had walked to the desk with something between a glide and a stalk in her step. She gave the appearance of one used to formalities, perhaps even to the extreme. Her voice was concise and clear and she looked him straight in the eyes. Her own eyes flicked momentarily between the two beautiful hues before her in the orbs glancing back at her but then she merely awaited his response, cautious and careful not to stare.
While she didn't place herself at parade rest, or even at a crisp attention stance, there was a balanced combination of poised grace and coiled energy within her. Her hands were at her side, but unlike some, who wouldn't know how to hold them, she seemed comfortable with them dangling at her side. Almost like she was waiting to lunge and grasp something. In anyone else it may have looked awkward, but it suited her perfectly.
Like a dancer waiting to leap, or a leopard waiting to pounce, she was ready for almost anything. Right now, she knew she awaited the fate of the rest of her life. She only hoped that she wouldn't be found wanting.

Excapus
Excapus nodded promptly, "Please, sit down Miss Pindragin."
The Colonel removed his fedora hat and put it to the side of the table. With slightly shifty eyes, he looked the woman up and down, but still not looking like he was gazing, while he placed the datapad he had onto the surface of the table. She slightly reminded him of some of the female agents at the NRIS he would see around base, with soft eyes and smooth but still strong bodies. Excapus reminded himself that appearance isn't what mattered. It was the spirit and mentality of this recruit that would determine if she was in or not.
He could detect the slight sense of eagerness in Pindragin. She didn't snap to attention or anything of that sort. But the look in her eyes, maybe a tiny sparkle, allowed the colonel to know how much this woman wanted to be a soldier.
"So tell me Miss Pindragin, why did you choose this path? To be a soldier of the galaxy's finest?" Excapus usually would start off potential recruit interviews like this. The simple question of Why? extended.
In his head, he would try to guess what the woman would answer with. Maybe one of the common answers. To fight and protect the Republic! To defeat the evil Empire! To do all the cool stuff and shoot people! Every few times, recruits said that, one of them wouldn't get in.

Llewel
She nodded and took the mentioned seat. “Thank you, Sir.” As she sat down and he asked the question, she immediately thought of the usual responses, 'to serve the Republic', 'to kill the evil Empire', and other such blasé answers. But it wasn't true. It was easier to say the truth than what she assumed he wanted to hear. As an officer, she was sure he would want to hear about desires for valor, medals and great war battle stories. But what came from her lips was entirely different. “Because I want to be the best. And I can't do it alone.” She smiled after a moment and continued. “I have been shooting since I was old enough to wield a weapon. And while most may want to be down on the front lines, shooting those whose eyes they can look into, I prefer the less direct approach. I want to be a sniper, Sir, with all due respect. I want to be the one who clears the path for the swift message runner, the one setting the bomb, or the one who has his hands full with another body and can't fight for himself.” She looked down a moment and realized how foolish that sounded out loud. But in the blink of an eye, she lifted her head and looked directly at him. “It may sound foolish, Sir. But it is what I have trained for till I was old enough to come and ask for further help. Jedi learn from the cradle, Sith are bred to it, a sniper can be born to it but can only excel as far as her surroundings will allow. I can't simply pick a rifle up and start picking people off. I don't have the training or the weapons to do so.”
She smiled a bit brighter. “Besides, a sniper with a rifle and no one to protect, is like a sleeping Jedi with a saber. Neither have a purpose.” She nodded at him as she finished. “I want a purpose, and the training to carry it out.” She knew her answer would probably earn her a polite 'We will get back to you' response, but it was all right. As long as she was honest, she knew she was not coming in under false pretenses. That was all that mattered to her.

Excapus
"A marksman since childhood eh?" Excapus began to take a liking towards this recruit. She reminded him "From what it seems, you're not in it for the glory or riches or benefits. You were just like me when I started out. I was a farmboy that occasionally hunted wild game with his uncle, setting out to find adventure and companionship while protecting something worthy."
Excapus gave a warm smile, well warm in a military sense, still preserving a little bit of the gruffness. "You want training and people to protect, you're at the perfect place. But before you can specialize, you have to be well rounded. Hell, you just might find a different passion than being a sniper" Excapus recalled how he wanted to be a sniper for the Rangers in his days as a Corporal, but he discovered he was more adapted for meeting the enemy up close and personal, " The Republic isn't what it used to be months ago. We used to deal with petty pirates and mercenaries out in snug corners of the galaxy. Now we are at total war. You'd be sent straight onto the frontlines right out of basic training. The best training is to be right there in the action. You'll lose the people you call your brothers and sisters. I want to know if you can handle that. "
The colonel tapped the datapad with his index finger and showed an image of a legion of stormtroopers marching in formation with a fleet of Star Destroyers and TIE Fighters flying above them. "The enemy will be relentless. The enemy will do everything to undermine you, physically and mentally."
Now the colonel wanted to test her sense of fear and dread. Around this part, forty percent of potential recruits would grow scared and rethink their decision.
