Ellandra Rellik
Ellandra stepped thru the recruiting room doors, set herself square in front of the secretary's desk and spoke clear and concise. “I am Ellandra Rellik. I am here to interview for the Imperial Army.” She then handed her data stick over for copying and nodded as she received it back. She was told to take a seat and wait with the others, so she turned to survey her competition.
Sure, with war on the horizon, she doubted any would be truly turned away. Even she would be accepted. The question was, would they all be accepted in the positions they desired. She highly doubted it. A sniper wannabe may end up a cook. And a grunt like herself may find they want her scrubbing hanger decks instead.
She refused to settle for anything less than the front lines. She just hoped that her physical training and mental preparations had been enough. Just one way to find out...
She moved to stand against the wall since all the chairs were full. She was able to view all three doors from here. The one she came through opened now and again to admit another fresh recruit with a dream. And the door opposite that kept taking people in and out. Those who entered went in hopeful and full of energy. Of those who emerged, half seemed elated, the other half were clearly disappointed. She could only hope that she came out without adding another point to the 'disappointed team'. The door behind the secretary never seemed to open at all.
Her locks were more brunette than gold, and her body was a gracefulness that was attributed to being athletic, not pampered. There was a ripple of muscle beneath her dress slacks and blouse that was barely visible, but gave her almost a catlike quality when she moved. Even her eyes, gold flecked and hazel touched, had added to her nickname in school. She wondered if the same name would pop up here. It wasn't that it was bad... no one messed with someone named “Nexu”. But she would keep that moniker to herself. She wanted to earn her soldier nickname, not be handed her old one back. If they called her “Nexu" here, it would be because they, too, saw it within her....
… the great hunting cat ready to spring.
But for right now, she would just wait and see what happened.

Thule
*Forty five minutes later*
Thule Alexander was having a good day in the office. While he would rather have been training his teams or being out in the field the administration part of his job needed to be seen too. That meant dealing with approving new recruits. Of course, much like the man who had just left in a blind fury, not everyone was fit for service.
Pressing a button to signal that he was ready to see the next person in waiting, the Captain tried to make his uniform seem a little more official then before while awaiting the doors to open...

Ellandra
Ellandra had managed to find a seat about 30 minutes into her wait. Others were getting bored, fidgeting and giving up long before an hour had even come close. When she finally heard her name, she smiled. Others who weren't willing to wait had missed a great chance to serve the Empire. She would not make that mistake. She would serve... one way or another. She just hoped it was in the manner of her choosing.
She almost bumped into a man coming out of the side door opposite where she had entered. He was cursing in languages she had never heard and balled his fists up when he saw her. “Can I help you, Sir?” She asked at she looked at him? She wasn't snide, condescending or even harsh. It was if she were a retail salesman asking if the man wanted a pair of boots. The exception to this was that she stared him down. He gave up his comment and merely grunted as he departed the room. She wouldn't have fought him, but she wouldn't have backed down either.
Stepping into the doorway she had been directed to, she knocked on the open door and spoke clearly to the man at the desk. “Ellandra Rellik, Sir.” She then waited to be asking and and either offered a seat or left standing. Either was fine. She had made it here. That was what mattered first and foremost. The rest would unravel as it should.

Thule
“Ellandra Rellik, Sir.”
Looking at the woman who had stepped into his office, Thule gave her a brief but professional once over before standing up and beckoning her over to one of the chairs present for the sole purpose of giving the new recruits somewhere to sit. "Captain Thule Alexander. Please feel free to take a seat Ms Rellik and we will get your interview underway."
Remaining standing until the woman made up her mind about taking a seat or not, Thule took his seat once again in order to ensure he maintained a professional air about the whole thing. "The first few questions I wish to ask you might just be the most important questions you will ever answer in your life. I want you to think about it properly before giving me an answer. Why do you want to join the Imperial armed forces? What do hope to accomplish by being in the army and what do you believe is the purpose behind the Imperial army? "

Ellandra
Ellandra had awaited this question since she was old enough to understand her answer. “I with to join the Imperial Army to see to it that our freedoms aren't infringed on. The Republic believes that they are the end all be all of the Universe and that their way is the only way. I don't believe that is true. They should stay where they belong and not meddle in the affairs of others. As to what I hope to accomplish, Sir, is a place of honor amongst those who feel and act as I do.” She took the seat he had offered and remained sitting almost at attention as she continued.
“I believe the Imperial Army is the strong hand of the believers. We do when others can't, or won't. We are the ones who stand against the tyrants and say in a very loud voice that we will not surrender or give up.” She was fierce in her belief but her voice was professional and calm. She knew what she felt was deep in her very blood. She only hoped her conviction was heard without needing to flex and preen as she knew some recruits in the outer waiting area had been practicing. If he believed her tough, then posturing wasn't necessary. And if he didn't think she was Army material, then no amount of posturing and preening would secure her her uniform. She let her words speak for themselves and hoped that her dream would not end here.

Thule
Nodding his head as the woman gave her answer, Thule let the corners of his mouth twitch upwards slightly. It was only for a moment, because it was a recruitment and an image had to be upheld, but if she was paying attention she would have caught the small sign of approval.
"Very well Ms Rellik. The following question is completely hypothetical, but it will help with the final decision on where to send you to so that the Empire can take full advantage of your talents. During the course of your career, you've obtained a high enough rank that your in charge of selecting where military resources are allocated. After reading through all the different projects, you begin to notice that all of the possible projects fall into one of two galactic wide possible but conflicting plans for the Empire."
"The first series of projects, on completion, would grant the Empire the offensive power needed to purge the galaxy of all opposing factions, such as the Republic and the Hutts while claiming all planets in the galaxy as part of the Empire. However, once a planet is ours only key planets would be able to be defended. Planets deemed unimportant to the Empire's current goals would be without an imperial defense force."
"The second series of projects on the other hand take a more defensive tone to them. On completion of the projects, Imperial space would be the most secure space in the galaxy. It would be next to impossible for an enemy faction to assault even our most poorly defended planet without losing most, if not all of their forces within the first day of their invasion. Enemy spies would find it borderline suicide to attempt to breach our defenses. The cost of such a powerful shield however would be our inability to launch any attempt to conquer new planets by force."
"You only have enough resources to pool into one series of projects and attempting to mix and match would simply ruin the overall effect. Which do you pick?"
The question out there, Thule honestly wondered what the answer was going to be.
