Ari woke up and smiled. If all went well today, she would get her clearance, get out of the main barracks, and get not only a room to herself, but back to work.
She was pretty sure she wouldn't get back to Republic One... and she wasn't even sure if she could get back to the Rogues. All she did know was after nearly a year cooped up in space, she was ready to be under the open sky, working on aircraft, holding a greasy spano again.
After a light breakfast and shower, she headed to the recruitment center and down the hall to Medical. Opening the door, she went to the receptionist and checked in.
"I'm Arianna Talien. I need to get a medical clearance to return to work."
The woman told her to give her thumbprint on the plas-screen pad and have a seat.
She could only hope that the clearance was easy. Explaining where she had been wasn't going to be.

Buttoning her shirt back up, blue eyes glanced to the Ithorian female as the doctor input several notes into the Representative's file and she hoped that nothing had come up that would keep her from making a paycheck. "How's everything look," she finally asked.
The large, sloped head turned to her as long fingers continued typing at the station near the wall. "Completely healthy," the dual-toned voice replied. "It's good to see with all that you've been through. I take it you stay active and eat well. Which," her eyes returned to the monitor before her. "I can't say for everyone, unfortunately."
Glad to hear the news, Isamaya finished dressing. "My father got us in that habit, being from Adumar and he was in the army. Kindof got used to it."
"Adumarians have a good habit of staying fit, that's for sure." Turning to her now that the file was completed and sent to the hospital's computer core. "Well, continue to do whatever you've been doing and hope to see you next year."
Nodding to the pleasant doctor. "Take care." Following the Ithorian out of the smaller examination room, Isamaya turned right and headed toward the lobby, glad that this was over. Blue eyes soon fell on another female seated near the holoprojector and nodded politely to her, the ex-bounty hunter having gained a lot of contacts by being cordial. Moving to the nurse's desk, she then handed her the medical card to pay the bill.

Airanna was left in thought as the woman came out of the back room. But at the sound of her voice, Ari looked up and smiled. "Good day to you," she said happily.
Gone as she had been, there had been little to no contact between her and the others stranded with her. Sometimes they'd go most of a day without talking to one another. Casual remarks like 'good morning' or 'how was your day' were quickly replaced with 'it's done, what next' and 'I'm going to bed, see you in a few hours'.
Pleasantries were an oddity she hadn't considered or pondered on till she realized she missed them.
Hearing such a mundane greeting also made her realize that being back in the civilized world was going to take some getting used to.
No better time like the present! she thought to herself.
As the woman stood at the counter waiting for her creds to be docked, Ari smiled once more and took the initiative. "I hope you enjoy the rest of your day."
She only hoped it didn't sound as crazy out loud as it had sounded in her head.

"You too," Isamaya kept her attention divided now as the woman seemed more than eager to talk to someone. Blue eyes noticed the nurse's reaction to the medical card and she had a bad feeling about this.
"I'm going to have to make a call," the older redhead stated and Isamaya knew what this was about immediately.
"Again," she sighed with exasperation, shaking her head and turned to the other girl, leaning on the counter as she crossed her arms. "I swear, bureaucracy."
"I'm really sorry, ma'am," the nurse stated behind her. "Frustrating for all of us."
Taking a deep breath, the ex-bounty hunter glanced to the holoprojector as the show changed to a home decorating team working on a large estate in the western mountains, sitting on the beach. "Love to be there right now," Isamaya mused aloud, then glanced to the other girl.

Ari felt her heart sink as the receptionist behind the counter gave the woman a hard time about her cred stick.
Part of her mind worried because she didn't have a cred stick. Then a deeper fear set in as she realized that her real fear wasn't in not being able to pay, but in the fact she may have been declared dead or missing... and she had nothing but her work and her prints to prove she was who she was.
As the woman mentioned being on the secluded beach in a huge manor, Ari had to laugh. "I think I'd enjoy a hanger bay bustling with flight ops, better. But it sure looks pretty. Just not a solitude kind of person, I guess." She smiled a bit brighter hoping that her non agreement wasn't coming across rude.
Her last statement made her inwardly cringe. Perhaps solitude, something she used to enjoy and seek out often, was something she would fight against for a long time to come.

Isamaya instead grinned at the girl's comment, not begrudging anyone their opinion. "I have to deal with bureaucracy all day, think I'd be used to this by now, but when there's issues with my medical insurance then I get a little impatient." In fact, the life of a bounty hunter had been a lot easier in comparison. As the nurse talked to a rep on the other end of the comm, Isamaya's thoughts drifted back to the show on the holovid and wondered how far that was from here as she still had yet to find a home outside the apartment that she lived in. With the money she was making now something like that for the weekends was feasible.
"Don't get me wrong, I love my ship too, but," she shrugged again as an older couple stepped into the large lobby and moved toward the desk, prompting Isamaya to move out of their way and head toward a chair near the end and sit down. "There are times when getting away from the city can be therapeutic."

Arianna laughed. "I thought so, too. But after almost an entire year of near solitude, I think it's highly overrated."
Realizing she had been rude, Ari took the opportunity to introduce herself. "Seems you may be here a moment. I'm Ari, Arianna. Been... ummm... off world for a while. Just coming back to work." She didn't want to start blurting out where she had been. She barely knew this woman and she still wasn't settled with how to explain it to anyone. Tal had been an exception. He had walked up on her landing craft. Kind of hard to lie about your whereabouts when you arrive in a craft that hasn't been listed in any manifest for nearly a year. "Naval aircraft mechanic. So what do you do that leaves you dealing with bureaucracy, if I can be nosy?" She smiled again hoping she wasn't sounding intrusive.

Some things were starting to come to light as she listened, the key words telling Isamaya all she needed to know without prying and she would allow that Ari explain it when she was ready. It also now made sense why she was here at the doctor's office as well. "Isamaya," she returned as they were introducing one another.
Mechanic. Interesting profession as she thought more about Arianna's background and military career and with a war going on, things were even more clear. "I work at the senate building, but liaise between the New Republic and the Jedi on Corellia," she informed. "Not as glamorous as it might sound," the representative smiled. "But, there are some interesting perks that I never thought I'd have."

Ari laughed. "I bet the perks don't outweigh the bantha droppings you have to deal with. I know how bad officers can be with a little bit of a swelled head. I can only imagine what craziness you have to deal with with bureaucracy. I definitely don't envy you that." She shifted in her seat and smiled.
"I've been off planet a while. And out of, communication, I guess you could say." She tried to keep the smile, but if the woman was any good at reading people, she would see how much Ari struggled to maintain it. "I am thinking the some definite perks would be solitude after a crazy senate discussion, and a strong drink after the weak cocktails at some crazy soiree." Rising to pace, feeling a bit restless she moved over to glance out the small single window in the room. "Last soiree I remember was the huge ball a year or so ago." She turned and the smile was real, "I remember the drinks there being weak enough that even the young pups weren't able to get to the limit of belligerent. Which, in hindsight, was probably a good idea." She also remembered something she didn't tell the stranger. It was the only time since she was a child in primary school that she had ever worn a dress. It was odd, but she remembered liking the attention. The smile from the memory was more than genuine as she looked away from the woman and back out the window.
