She had been able to have a drink or two before finally going home to shower and change. It felt good to be back in her surroundings. But as she lay on her bunk and turned out her light, the nightmares crept back in and dawn found her as tired, if not more so, than she had been the night before.
Dressing in work out attire, tight leggings and top, soft soled boots and hair bound tight to her crown, she headed towards the workout salle.
As she stepped inside, she paused. It had been a couple years. Nearly one escaping from the botched ransom grab. And another trying, and failing, to recuperate on a pleasure planet whose staff never did understand what they were doing wrong that she wasn't enjoying herself.
They hadn't done anything wrong. The doctors had. They assumed she needed time to decompress, to convalesce and to unwind and forget everything after her kidnapping. So they packed her things and whisked her away from friends and support without even letting her say good bye. It had almost caused more damage than it had helped.
Smiling at the bench as she remembered those she had trained with in here before that fateful assignment, she slowly moved to the middle of the floor and began to stretch long ignored muscles. After about thirty minutes, she began to move through a series of strikes and blocks an old friend had taught her long ago. "Almost feels like a lifetime." She half whispered to the empty room. As she moved, she let her eyes drift half shut. She pictured those who had hurt her and moved with sharper and faster motions each repetition. After several moments though, the images enraged her and soon she wasn't moving correctly or concisely enough to have done damage to anyone, had they been there.

-The time he had spent in his personal training grounds was far to long. All of his work kept him pretty much busy; it had been to the point where he couldn't even go for a morning run. It almost felt like he was getting more fat on his arms and stomach. For a man so fit; it was just hard.-
-Tal's body was in need of exercise.-
-His prosthetic limbs had been replaced since then, but his chiropractor had told him to be careful when he was training. It wasn't anything to serious... well maybe it was. Ever since he had replaced his old limbs; the blond mandalorian had been seeing a series of lower back problems. He figured that a chiropractor would help him with his problem. But for some reason, it didn't seem to work. In fact, the more heavy lifting he did; the worse it seemed to get. This had been months after the new replacements were fitted in. But that didn't mean it was going to stop him from doing some exercises at his training spot.-
-Dressed in a white muscle shirt and work-out pants; the blond carried himself into the room. He carried a small duffel bag of supplies including a bottle of refreshing water. Appearance wise, he looked older. His hair was longer then what military standards normally had. However, it wasn't much of a bother to be pushed to the side of his face. Upon entering he took notice of another individual practicing.... no it wasn't a practice. She was sparing a rather unique fighting style. It was something that the young mandalorian knew a little to well. But something seemed to be off.-
She's being a little to sloppy.
-Setting the bag down on a bench along with the water bottle; he watched closely. Each move seemed to become even more wild and frantic then the last. It was a basic hand-to-hand style of combat. Something that Kote was very adverse in along with blade on blade combat. But if she knew the technique so well... then why was it so sloppy? Her attention seemed to be a little more distracted then before. One always had to have a clear mind when they fought otherwise it wouldn't end well. By the looks of it she was nearly close to hurting herself if she continued at this pace.-

Had she realized she had a watcher, she would have taken up her towel, mumbled a good bye and fled the room. But she was lost in her rage. Lost in the helplessness she had felt when she had felt that sleep dart hit her neck, lost in the pain of her torture, and most of all lost in her rage at not being able to put it all behind her.
She was now swinging erratically and wouldn't have knocked an unconscious Jawa on his backside, much less a real opponent. Her exhales of controlled breath deteriorated to growls as she swung one way then the next. In her mind it was the same as she had begun. But in reality, she would have ended up in more hot water than she had the first time. Tendrils of her hair whipped from the knot and began to dance like a dervish around her head. Closing her eyes from the sting of the strands, she kept moving, all the while oblivious to her voyeur watching from the sidelines.

-The moves were becoming more frantic and diverse. It almost seemed like something had taken control of her mind. It had come to the point where it was a battle of anger and rage; the end result could result her getting hurt or someone else getting hurt. Either way; it had to be stopped.-
-Blond mandalorian moved forward to the frantically swinging woman. Her stance and posture was all over the place. The swings were heading all over the place, and sudden jerks of her body. Leaning back he avoided a sing that seemed to catch nothing but air. His hair moved slightly through the trail of wind that followed her swing. His footsteps carried him around the front of her body; where his eyes laid upon hers that were closed. Leaning away from another swing; Kote took a gradual step back and prepared himself. Lifting his right prosthetic hand up, fingers spread wide, and posture ready. He moved around in a defensive maneuver just as one of her swings connected with the hard metallic that was his hand. The clanging sound echoed through the room and it seemed strong enough to hurt someone. Fingers curled around the fist in efforts to making her stop what she was doing and calm down. His own stance and posture straight and prepared. Not even uttering a word as this happened.-

Her mind was lost, her eyes were closed, all she could do was fight. Fight them all. Fight to get away.
Suddenly her hand struck something solid enough to make her cry out. But when it registered, her whole body shifted. She stepped into Tal, still unaware of her opponent, and tried to pull him over her leg in an attempt at a hip throw. But her stance was off and her strength not focused. It was sloppy.
As she opened her eyes and realized suddenly who was in front of her, it was too late.
"TAL!"
All she could do was bend her knee and hope he landed on top of her and not the other way around. Her mind reeled. How... where... when... she got a lost a moment in where she was and what she was doing as she headed for the salle floor.

-He never really expected this kind of response to come from here, and yet it did. This was more of a self-defensive move then something to be used for attack. She performed it quiet well, but it wasn't enough to catch the blond mandalorian completely off guard. It as an attempt at a hip throw; however, Tal had other plans so that they both wouldn't wind up getting hurt from the moves. She had attempted to stop everything with the use of her knee. But Kote had something different one his mind.-
-Instead of him landing on his back from a simple throw. The young blond pulled her hand closer. If this work; the result would be him landing flat on his back with her on top of him.-
Don't let this hurt the both of us.
-Tal didn't want to have to go see his chiropractor on a simple injury that didn't mean to happen. All that really mattered at the moment was ensuring no one got hurt. Especially by the movements meant for sparing.-

She may have lost sight of her form, but not her training. Once she realized it was Tal, a friend and not one of her envisioned captors, she bit her lip. As she realized he was shifting the fall, she obeyed without thinking.
When they had trained a couple years ago, almost all contingencies had been thought of... though obviously not all. One of the lessons he had drilled into her, time and again, was if he had to drag and roller out of the way of weapons fire. This came to mind as her toss turned into him drawing her closer.
Like a dancer, she met his movement almost perfectly. She pressed closer and let his weight and momentum finish guiding the fall. Feeling the ground beneath his back and the stop that followed, she immediately slid off to lay half off him at his side. Her hip was on the ground, her leg still covering his body and her arm still captured in his. Looking into his eyes to be sure he was all right, she shook her head and tried to look away. "What are you doing here? I could have hurt you."
After it fell from her swollen lips, the comment sounded wrong. He had taught her what she knew and she had just made a poor showing of it. Somehow she doubted she could have hurt him in any way, then or now.
Her voice dropped and she was trying to keep from letting him see her face. "I'm sorry. I hope I didn't hurt you." The whisper was apologetic. The strength he had seen when he first met her had dwindled some when she had returned from her ordeal before. But this... this obvious fatigue, lack of coordination, and disregard for the forms he had taught her, spoke of something deeper.

-Before he knew it; his body was on the ground. The force of it had sent a sharp pain through the mandalorian's lower back. At that point his eyes closed for a brief moment... as to show he wasn't in any kind of pain. There was a good chance he would have to go see his doctor about this. But that would be on some other time. For now, it was a matter of ensuring safety. Not wanting anyone to get hurt. After a while Kote's eyes opened matching that of Alizabeth's. She was on top of him partially. His hand still wrapped around her own hand.-
"This coming from a government politician?" -Tal questioned raising an eyebrow.- "Come on; you should know me better then that. Plus I was the one who taught you those moves to begin with."
-At this point; the pain in his back had gone away. So he wasn't really showing any sign of discomfort in his body. That was good at least. But through it all; the mandalorian was only doing this to ensure that she didn't get hurt. Letting go of her hand; he pressed his hands on the the ground and slowly pushed himself up. At this point she would now be able to get a good look at his appearance and how much he had changed over the course of two years. Taller, stronger, muscular.... better looking.-
"No, it's okay." -Tal responded calmly.- "I was more concerned that you didn't hurt yourself."
At least I hope this won't bite me in the back.
-Pushing himself up now into a standing position; Kote turned over and lowered his right hand down to her. His eyes remained closed for a moment, but he ignored the small discomfort he had. Focus was more on ensuring she was okay.-

As he moved to get up, she moved off him and smiled rolling to sit up. "I don't feel like much of a government official lately." She smiled trying to laugh. She would have fooled some people, but he would notice it had been almost forced. She did smile as he mentioned training her. "Guess I didn't do it justice, did I?"
Liz brushed herself off but had noticed his closed eyes on the ground and the wince as her weight shifted slightly on his offered arm as she rose. Something was wrong. But she would wait and see if it was the shock of the fall or something worse.
As she took the offered hand, she realized the whole arm wasn't the metal she remembered from last time. "What happened to your arm?"

-Just as her hand touched the synthflesh of his new prosthetic arm; the hand closed grasping it gently. At that moment his eyes reopened -- ignoring the pain -- and he pulled her up to a standing position. His feet back peddled a little, but he kept himself straight as to not allow her to fall to the ground again. Her question had caught him a little by surprise. She had known that he had a prosthetic arm and leg, but over the course of about three months; it had changed. Normally, it was bulky and the appearance was that of metallic. However, it was different now with synthflesh covering it this time. Almost giving the appearance of a real fleshy arm.-
"I had it rebuilt and replaced," -The mandalorian responded calmly. His voice still showing that hint of an accent and being a little deeper since their last encounter.- "Was recommended by my doctor."
Though it maybe to late.
-He had a feeling that he would have to go through surgery for his back. Everyday seemed to grow worse and worse for him. Whether it was training or lifting something heavy. The chiropractor had told him to go easy, but just how easy could he go. It was hard considering the amount of work he had to do for the NR. He couldn't sit around and do nothing after all.-
-Yellow eyes looked upon her feelings. She had tried to crack a joke, but even he knew it wasn't all that good. The two hadn't seen each other in a while it seemed like she was forcing something that wasn't really necessary.- "You looked like you were in some kind of distress actually?" -Being around politicians and government type officials; Kote could very well tell when one was a little on edge or down.-

She had doubted herself about the closed eyes, even dismissed his grit teeth, but when he winced lifting her to her feet, she couldn't dismiss it any longer. Without thinking, she stepped towards him and ran her hand from his elbow to his arm, as if merely tracing it with her fingers she would be able to tell what was wrong. It wasn’t possible. She didn’t have that kind of sensing skill, but she knew when something was wrong.
“I’m fine… haven’t slept well, hated being gone, nightmares won’t stop…” She shook her head waved a hand as if brushing those thoughts away. As Liz looked up into his eyes, her own were filled with concern and worry. She didn’t think of how close they stood, didn’t think of how she had seen ghosts and swung at them with strikes that would never land, and didn’t think of why she had come back early. All that concerned her in that moment was him.
Tal had been a protector, of sorts, to her. His training, and even Adam’s, had helped her stay alive, escape and come home again. To see him in pain troubled her and angered her. “What is wrong, Tal? You weren’t in pain with the limbs last time I saw you. Please… tell me.”
She wasn’t even aware that after running her hand down his arm, it was still resting there, lingering on his wrist.

-The politician was even more concerned about Tal; then he was himself. His head lowered slightly noticing her tracing her hand from his elbow down to his wrist where it remained. Had she found out about his back problems? No. But she was still worried for the young 19-year-old. At this age no one should be experiencing discomfort. But...? In Tal's case; it was a completely different story. What the mandalorian worried the most was Liz's lack of sleep. Her experience away from the NR had given some kind of fear... maybe pain that she could not over-come.-
"What is it... why can't you sleep?" -Came his own question. He was more worried about her sleeping then his own physical health. But what came down to it was her expressing more concern about him. Not even noticing how close they were to each other.- "It's not these limbs that are the problem."
-Was it wise to fully explain why he had gone through the process of getting new ones? He didn't want to worry her then what she already was.-
"Well," -He swallowed, trying to find the right words to speak.- "The previous limbs you seen me with where actually putting harm to my body. I went to a doctor where they examined me with alarming news of those limbs putting more stress on my body then anything else. They recommended me to a chiropractor where he performed tests and said that if I didn't replace those I wouldn't be able to carry a simple blaster rifle. Of course I did replace them..."
-He only hopped that the new prosthetic limbs would ease the stress on his body. However, since his return to Telos; Kote hadn't been back to his chiropractor. All the while he felt that the condition on his back was gradually getting worse the more he worked and lifted objects. Was this a possibility of concern? More then likely. The thought occurred that he probably needed surgery to fix his back, and even then he wasn't sure if the surgery would work altogether.-

When he asked about the lack of sleep, she looked down and let her fingers dance lightly over his arm. “The Senate sent me away, Tal. That's why I never had dinner with you.” She looked back up in his face with apology written across her countenance. “I didn’t have a choice. They even went and packed my things. They said I needed to get away. That it would help me heal. But it didn’t.” She looked back down at his arm wanting to change the subject. She shrugged and glanced over the rest. “It didn’t help.”
Looking back up she tried to smile. “I had everything I needed here to heal. You, Adam, my room, my work. The strange environment on the pleasure moon was like being disjointed. I had felt the same way when trying to escape. And it brought all that back up. It didn’t help. Every time I closed my eyes and opened them in that strange place, I thought of waking up captured.” She sighed. “It just didn’t help at all.”
She listened then as he spoke of his limbs. When he mentioned them both being replaced, she absently wondered about his leg. She knew it had been a metal alloy like his arm, but between practice gear and uniforms, she had never had a chance to see it.
When he stopped, she looked back up. She was a year older than him, but his half a head height on her meant she would look up to see his eyes. It was comforting, somehow. Back when he had been teaching her to survive her first assignment, she had thought his height an advantage in shielding her. Now it was a comfort of familiarity. For some reason, her mind told her as long as she looked up and saw those Mandalorian eyes, she was safe. It seemed silly, but she couldn't explain why. “And now everything is ok?” She guessed it wasn’t or he wouldn’t have shown pain. But she didn’t know how else to ask. Her diplomatic skills were obviously lacking in use as well.

-The mandalorian wasn't really sure if their was a different Chief of State heading the government at that time. During that whole fiasco; he was merely taking orders from his superiors. So when it boiled down to the simpler things; he was pretty much going where they ordered him to go. Not really thinking about the reasoning why? or how for that matter. But then again the senate always seemed to make brash decisions without first thinking. It always seemed like the best thing to do. Maybe that was why Kote didn't join the government. It just wasn't for him.-
"Well you're back here... that's all that matters, right?" -Tal questioned. He had looked past that whole dinner thing; it just happened and she couldn't stop it.- "I mean the senate can't send you away now. And plus we have a different Chief of State. I am pretty sure he could use your help anyways."
Adrian is a good man.
-Chief of State Adrian helped Tal move to the seat of High General. It was from that man's negotiating skills that he was able to convince the senate and several others that Kote was the perfect man to lead the NR military. And in the time that he had been military leader; he seemed to accomplish a little more then that of the previous leaders of the military. Kote's yellow eyes looked down onto Liz. He felt sorry for her. All of this for nothing... something so meaningless that the senate did. But as soon as focus shifted; Kote didn't want to be that one person who lied to her. Was the whole procedure helping with his pain? Truthfully NO. It was getting worse despite the new replacements.-
"Well since my return; I haven't had the chance to revisit my chiropractor." -He said calmly.- "The individual whom I purchased them from said they would ease the stress on my body, because they were lighter in weight. However, overtime... I think it's gotten worse." -He didn't want to have her worry, but it was the truth. There could be a possibility that the mandalorian high general would be left crippled.-

She didn't know much about medicine or prosthetics, but something made her respond. "Maybe we should see him now?" She smiled at him. "I'll go with you if you want." She blushed realizing how stupid that sounded. "Sorry, of course you don't. You certainly didn't make it this far with people coddling you." She didn't know his true rank, but she was sure he was more than a Cadet or First Lt. at this point.
Looking back up as the crimson on her cheeks came under control, she nodded. "But you should see him. Maybe the damage the old limbs did wasn't properly seen to. Like the muscles in your back. If they were weak from the metal limbs, then they just put these on without healing or reinforcing, it seems to me it wouldn't have done you much better at all." She looked back down at his arm with a thought running unspoken in her mind. Maybe a lighter metal alloy. Something with less weight.
As he forgave her for being gone, she smiled. "You are right. Things are different now. Maybe I just need to buck up go in and tell them I am back." She laughed and it was a bit more like her own self. "I mean, worse they can do is fire me, right?"

No I didn't.
-And even telling her of his rank wouldn't of been a good idea to begin with. The last time he saw her was when he was a Lieutenant. Maybe..? Possibly. That was hard to say; however, knowing that he was the military leader may as well put more strain. Kote was told that lighter limbs would heal his body. However, his actual doctor was always beating around the bush compared to his chiropractor who held just as much concern for Tal like Liz did.-
"Well I was told that these lighter limbs would be better for me," -Tal responded; his yellow eyes looking down at his prosthetic right arm.- "I don't know; I always think that I will be better... that this discomfort will go away. But it only seems to get worse with each passing day. My current work in the New Republic keeps me really busy; so I can't really go back to see my doctor concerning this problem of mine."
And even if I do go; who knows if it would be good news or bad news.
-He just didn't want to risk it.-
-Tal's body straightened up after Liz spoke of the new CoS. He worked with the man personally; so there shouldn't be much of a problem with returning. Taking her hand he offered a small smile.- "I can assure you our current CoS is much different then our last one. I don't think he would fire you... you'll never know unless you try."

She figured he must be squad or command leader now if he was so busy. "Maybe lighter limbs would help, if they weren't added to already compromised muscles." She had an idea. "I know you don't get time during work. But maybe some evening you can say you have plans. I will vouch for you if you want. You can see if your chiropractor can see you after hours." Something told her she should insist, but she had been gone too long. All she could bring herself to do was suggest.
As he took her hand and gave her confidence in the new leadership, she smiled and used her free hand to brush an errant strand of hair from her face. Nodding, she said, "I will go tomorrow then and report. You are right. I doubt they will fire me. And I need to get back in the speeder, so to speak. Right? Who knows, maybe I'll get a chance to work with you again." She laughed then and this time it lit up her eyes. "I promise to listen and behave this time."
He was busy, this had been a chance meeting, she doubted there would be much time to see him again... but an intern could hope.

"Eventually, I'll go see him."
Maybe on the weekend?
-It was a tough call; Liz didn't know that the man who protected her during Druckenwell was now the military leader. Would it be hard to actually say something like this. At one point he was a commanding officer, but now he was the NR's military leader. But knowing that she had enough confidence to go see the CoS would be an actual good thing. Work was work in the NR, and Tal was that one person who found himself always busy in his current seat.-
"That'll be kind of hard," -Kote responded.- "I am pretty high up on the totem pole."

When he said he would see the doctor eventually, she nodded. She couldn't press him. It wasn't her right to.
As she looked down at her small hand in his larger one, her thumb absently began to rub the back of his fingers. "Then I guess it's a good thing I caught you now, then, huh?" She smiled back up at him. "I don't suppose I will see you again soon then unless I happen to catch you in here some early morning."
She had missed him.
Suddenly the realization brought an ache to her chest. He was the reason she had come home. Both the first time, and this time. And now he was a leader of men. Someone she wouldn't see except in passing after this moment.
"I'm glad though." She nodded trying to sound cheerful. "I mean, at least I got to explain why I stood you up for dinner." She laughed again, but it was flat. "Maybe, someday, perhaps if you ever get leave time. I can make that up to you." She hoped she could. Surely even squad leaders got time off when the galaxy wasn't going in six different directions. "I mean," she laughed again, "we can always hope... right?"
She should move, should do something, should... but she couldn't. She looked into those yellow eyes and saw something there. Whether it was the pain from their tumble, or something else, she couldn't say. It always seemed like he was about to say something, then stopped.
Perhaps he was part of something she wasn't cleared to know about. She knew how that was. Keeping details from those she knew before her first assignment had been tough. She had had Tal, Adam and the others to talk to. She hoped he had others as well.
Sighing, she let herself wish, and not for not the first time, that she had mind reading powers like those who controlled the Force.

-She really wasn't acting like a politician or government official currently. But that was fine; she had other things to worry about. Work was important, and the last thing he wanted to see was her worrying. Any government official would see that as such. The dinner thing still didn't bother the mandalorian. In fact, he had a better solution to this problem.-
"Well," -Holding her hand; he lifted it up and smiled.- "How about tonight?"
-Was it to soon.... wait.... they were still in a training area by the NR. That would of gone off as something completely different. Very well he could get in trouble for doing something like this to someone who was in the NR just as much as he was. To late... and whether she said yes or no was up to him.-

A sharp intake of breath filled her lungs as he lifted her hand. Was he going to kiss it? The thought sent her mind in a million directions. Then he asked about dinner tonight.
She had expected lots of responses. From a shrug and a *maybe* to a *sure, maybe someday*. This hadn't been expected.
Tonight... tonight?! Her mind reeled, the almost kiss on her hand forgotten. She would have to clean the apartment, go shopping, think of something better than her current attire to wear....
"I'd love to. I mean, I have to go shopping. I fear the cupboards are bare because of my absence. Is there anything in particular you like that I could make for you?" She stopped as she realized she was rambling again. He was a busy man. He had said as much. If making dinner for him on the spur of the moment was all she would get, she would take it.
She smiled up at him as he still held her hand. And now she was looking like her old self again.

"That's not what I meant," -Tal responded to home cooking. Although he would be very well interested in it; there were other plans. He was more referring to going out to a place to eat. A very nice restaurant.- "I was more speaking of going out somewhere. I do know of a nice place?"
-Whether she wanted to or not; it had to be quick. Considering that this area was a training area. Kote wanted to continue on with his daily routine before work would catch up to him. Maybe show Liz some of the moves he taught her?-

Out with Tal... it sounded perfect. She smiled and nodded and this time the shine filled her eyes and face. "As long as I can cook next time." She had relaxed and the stress and anxiety was gone from her body and her face.
She laughed and squeezed his hand in reassurance. "And I promise I will be there." If anything happened this time, she doubted a Sith would be able to equal her wrath. Realizing how long they had stood there, much as she didn't want to, she rubbed his hand once more and removed hers. She felt the loss of his touch keenly. But outside noise started filtering in reminding her that others may come and that position would be awkward for them both.
Stepping back from him, she brushed a strand from her face and smiled again. She remained a bit closer than was probably proper between 'friends' but she wasn't quite ready to step away and see him go. "I, ummm... I hope I am not keeping you from your busy schedule. I mean, I'm sure you came here to work out," she laughed, "not get attacked by a wildly flailing female."

-The blond mandalorian couldn't help but laugh. It wasn't aimed towards the situation of dinner... although it may as well sound like it. More or less it was the whole working out situation. Kote had come here at the perfect time to help someone out. Who knew it would be Liz. Pausing for a moment; Tal stepped away to distance himself from her. He didn't want anyone to get the wrong idea of what was going on here. Adjusting himself; he ensured that no pain or discomfort would harm him from his back. Nodding he smiled.-
"Well, by the looks of it.... you look like you need to relearn those moves I taught you. So how about it?" -Tal questioned.- "Care to spar with me?"

She frowned and then nodded. "Only if you promise to claim I am worn out if you start to hurt too much. I don't want you cancelling dinner because you are stuck in medical." She smiled and moved back towards the center of the room.
"I'm a little rusty, so be gentle." She laughed and seemed to be back to her old self. Only the slightest hint of fatigue and wear still shadowed in her eyes.

"I promise," -Tal responded calmly.-
-Tal backed himself up a little. It was true; even the blond mandalorian himself didn't want to wind up at a hospital. His body had been telling him for a long time about the back problem. Gradually it WAS getting worse. But just how much longer would it be till he was completely out of a fight. It could range from a couple of weeks; to months; and even years. It all depended on what he did throughout that time period.-
"Don't worry; it's been a while since I've spared hand-to-hand myself."

She smiled. It wouldn't do for him to be banned from the field. She knew he loved his squad and being in the thick of things. She couldn't imagine him laid out because of something that could have been prevented. "Good."
She shook her arms and legs to circulate her blood a little faster and smiled. "Well how about something that won't end up with us tangled with our arms and legs going every which way." She laughed. "How about you just try and grab me. I will try and keep you from doing it? Would that work? Then you can tell me if I am doing it wrong, or there is something better I can do. I may remember to swat at an outreached hand, but maybe not see two moves ahead and get myself cornered." She knew that the last time couldn't be help. Even now, when she thought of it her neck hurt where the sleep dart had hit. But if she could learn to better herself one on one, maybe she could build the confidence to at least get some better sleep.
"So go ahead and come at me when you are ready." She grinned teasing him and put a hand on her hip and flipped the edge of her stray hairs to act innocent.

-The idea wasn't bad; that would normally be someone's first instinct. To grab at a girl and try to restrict her movement. Though; Tal only protected only but a few government officials. But maybe, also, this would be a good way to teach her something new. That someone in the government is capable of fighting.-
-But Tal also had to figure out a way to proceed. There was nothing bad in the matter. However, he could simply grab at her with his hands. Or try for a move that would incapacitate her. Maybe reach for her arm and then try to cover her mouth in a certain reason. Okay that sounded better, but not the best way of doing something. Maybe they could try to test that as a way of breaking out of a tough situation. Back to first measure now... simply grabbing.-
"Alright here I come," -Tal said calmly.-
-Yellow eyes remained firm and fixed on her. His hands were balled into two fists at one point. But after a while they went loose and limp. With half of his speed aiding him; Kote lunged forward at Liz. His left hand extending out in hopes of grabbing her by the arm or something.-

Liz saw him ball his fists and smiled. He did that when he was thinking and flexing. The fact she remembered it from their last training made her smile.
When he lunged, she almost wasn't ready. Her mind had started to wander and as he made to grab her arm, instead of moving, she lifted her arm out of the way.
The problem was, she wasn't fast enough in turning at the same time and he caught her by her right wrist. The turn was suddenly halted by the grab and she instinctively used her left hand to try and free herself from his grasp. This placed her square in front of him. A small growl fell from behind her grin as she realized her dance from his grip and her sneering remarks weren't going to happen.
"Hey..." she laughed. Then she got serious and tried to pry at his fingers with her right hand.
The other down side was... she stopped looking at his face and body. She wouldn't catch the shift in his stance that would have told her his next move.

-The mandalorian's grasp was firm and tight. However, if this was with his prosthetic; she probably would have a fractured wrist. Which was why he chose to utilize his other arm for something like this. His eyes remained firm and focus while she tried her best to remove his grip from her wrist. The way she positioned herself wasn't going well, and she seemed to be exhausting energy just to get one hand loose from her wrist. After about a minute or so -- with no luck -- Kote figured it would be a good time to coach her through this.-
"Any luck yet?" -He questioned as a joke.- "You're trying the obvious. My hand is around your wrist; that's anyone's first thought when something like this occurs. They want to break the grip that the 'potential threat' has. So instead of trying to perform the obvious here; think of another way. What could... can you do the break my grip off of your wrist?"
-No matter what situation anyone was in; there had to be a way out of it. Government officials should at least hold some kind of combat skill. In case something occurred that caused them to be captured. Of course Tal had experienced capture; but wasn't placed in a situation where someone had a grip on his arm or wrist. Instead he was bound by stun cuffs. And even with those stun cuffs; he was tortured and questioned. This came from the Imperial side as well as a sith side. Both holding different ways and methods of torturing their captives.-
-However, Kote wanted to teach Liz that there were different ways to break free. Keeping his posture and stance firm. The mandalorian high general waited patiently to see if she had come up with something.-

As he spoke of her doing the obvious, she paused and frowned. "So, other choices. I could go for their eyes." She lifted her hand towards his face. But as she paused she asked, "and maybe go for a second spot, like leg or foot?" She knew better than to put full force behind it, but she moved as if she stomped his foot and clawed at his face at the same time.
Her heart was racing. Absently she wondered if things would have gone different that first assignment if she had been given a chance to fight. Waking up in a torture chair was hardly a fair fight.

She has the right idea, -Tal thought to himself.-
-Almost instantly; the blond mandalorian let go of her. Her foot striking nothing but solid ground. The foot that was out was his prosthetic leg.... so she would of ended in her being hurt. He back peddled a could of steps. Yellow eyes lifted back up giving her that kind of look that she did the right thing. What next?-
"Good job; that's one way of doing it." -Tal smiled.- "Let's try a different approach. Let's say someone is holding you by the arm from behind. What would you do then?"
-With those words escaping his breath; the blond mandalorian walked around Liz. Taking a hold of the same wrist he moved her arm into the small of her back. This was a more difficult way of breaking free. However, just how would she be able to break free. One had enough strength to get free of something like this.-

Liz had done this one with Adam and surprised him. She hoped it would surprise Tal as well. As she turned her body into the twist, she moved under her own arm to come up facing him. Smiling and winking, she then quickly shoved with both arms. It was hard enough to make him take a step but she knew she wasn't going to land him on his backside. She just wanted to startle him. "THERE!" she huffed as she pushed hard with her free hand and a fare amount of the other one, given it was twisted in his grasp still.
If it worked, the awkward angle on her wrist that his hand had would be broken. If it didn't he would yank her closer and could grab her around her smaller frame to bind her to him. She only hoped the former was the result.

OKAY!
-This came to a surprise to the blond mandalorian. He wasn't really expecting something like this to occur. But had managed to twist around him where they were both facing each other. Yellow eyes glanced down at her; his hand still holding onto her arm in his firm grasp. However, at this point what could he do? Allow for his hand to be placed in an awkward position or let it be broken. Back peddling on his feet; Kote had actually let go over her arm. Regaining his composure he stood straight.-
"Not bad," -Tal said calmly.- "Not bad at all. You've learned rather well. Have you ever tried your hand in fist fighting?"

She lit up with the praise from him. But as he mentioned actual fist fighting, she shook her head and the light started to fade. "No, not really. I mean I am sure I used my fists the couple times I had to growing up like most overachievers who are picked on. But honestly, no. I don't know how to fight except what you and Adam taught me before... well before we left last time."
She knew she had to learn these things. Maybe in gaining the confidence to defend herself the nightmares would go away. Although, the thought of dinner with Tal made her realize she wasn't going to sleep bad for a while anyway.

-Tal didn't want to push anything onto her that would hurt her.... or himself for that matter. Government-type people weren't to keen on fighting with a blaster, blade, or their hands. Kote had to learn both ways of being a negotiable while on the defensive when it came to any kind of situation. The mandalorian was after all a mandalorian. Trained to fight without a second thought in the matter.-
"I understand," -The blond responded calmly.- "I don't want to push anything on you that may be a little dangerous. No matter what any form of combat is actually dangerous. Blasters, blades, and hand-to-hand. But I am sure you already know that."

Alexa smiled as she heard Tal begin to second guess the practice fearing it would hurt her. "I need to learn, Tal... but if it will be more involved than you have time for this morning, that's ok. Maybe we can schedule something for another time. I don't want to worry you because you feel we are rushing things."
She wanted to learn it all... blasters, blades, hand to hand, anything that would help her feel less vulnerable and more capable. She hated feeling like a victim. She had never felt like one before that fated mission, but now she couldn't stop feeling like one. "I do want to learn blades, and blasters, and everything." She laughed and brushed a stray hair from her face. "But as you are the teacher," she smiled, "I will defer to your judgement. You decide if you think I am ready this morning or you feel we should wait till another time."

"I know you are ready," -The blond responded calmly.- "I also know you just arrived back here on Telos; and I want to give you some time to adjust and recuperate. Jumping into training suddenly would be kind of a bad thing." -Taking a second; Kote glanced over at the clock to check in on time. It was getting a little later in the morning which meant he needed to start on his own work as High General.- "How about we schedule for another training session later on. I can teach you the basics of hand-to-hand if you like?"

As he glanced at the clock, she smiled and nodded. Taking a deep breath she agreed. "I know I should probably take it slow. And as my trainer," she winked teasing him, "I will listen to your advice." She was glad to be home. The Jedi in the Cantina had been right, being around friends had already been more of a boost for her than simply sitting someplace and trying to relax.
Besides, she had things to do to get ready to return to work. "We can set something up tonight at dinner, if you still have the time. How's that?" She wanted to be sure she wasn't pressuring him. Dinner was something with him she was genuinely looking forward to. And if she had anything to do with it, it was one date she wasn't planning on missing.
"Speaking of which," she laughed as she moved towards her towel and water, "you haven't told me where I should meet you." She grabbed her towel and smiled as she let her hair down and shook it out around her workout glowing cheeks.

"Sounds like a plan to me," -Tal responded calmly. But then he had to figure out where they would meet. Of course he could drive them both to a very nice restaurant. Maybe even make reservations -- considering he was the High General -- and go all out fancy. Turning over to his water; Kote picked it up and took a small sip.- "How about my place; I can drive us to a rather nice place I know about." -This would be a little nerve racking on his part. Last time she saw him living out of a garage, and now he was nearly living in a mansion.-

Liz smiled at the thought of seeing him for dinner. "All right. You are still at that place downtown, right?" She toweled her hair a bit then draped it around her neck. There was something, taunt, in the way Tal stood there. As if he had someplace to be, or something else to say... but didn't know how to say it. She would take the hint and let him go. He had more important things to do, she was sure, than sit here and reminisce about things that happened ages ago. Maybe dinner would give him the chance to open up and relax a bit more.
"I should let you get back to work. I am sure there are plenty of guys that need your instruction again..." She winked remembering his training before her last mission and that several folks had said that they had benefited from the Mandalorian's skills in the past. It was one of the reasons she had chosen him for her team.
She still thought it was one of the best decisions she had ever made. "I can be there at nineteen hundred. How's that? Unless you prefer earlier or later. I will check in tomorrow so I don't have to worry about being bogged down in committee meetings all day today and possibly missing dinner." The word again was there on the edge of her lips, but she bit back the urge to say it. Time to start thinking and acting better than before. No more worries, just getting back to life, back to missions and, hopefully, back to more time with Tal.

"Not really; I actually live someplace else now." -Though his last destination of living was in an old run down garage. It was there where he was sleeping on a sofa with his bike parked no more then a few feet away from him. That was for about the first couple of years he had joined the New Republic. Not the best but at least it was a place to stay. Glancing back over to her; Kote smiled pulling out a peace of paper and pen. He quickly jotted down the new address he was living at and handed it to her.- "Here. You can meet me at 1900 hours. I don't mind."
-Tal did have some other things to do; but he wasn't going to explain to her that he was now the High General for the NR military. Which would be an interesting story. Anyways. Glancing at his bag.- "I best be going; I guess I'll see you tonight?"

Liz watched the man walked off and glanced at the paper. Unfolding it she saw the address and her brows furrowed. "This is a nice part of town." Then she smiled, watched his back disappear out of the salle and nearly laughed. Leave it to Tal to find a way to the top.
She slid the paper in the work out bag and headed for the door herself. She had things to do to get prepared for this evening. She didn't even realize she was humming and smiling as she exited the building and headed for housing once more. Suddenly being back didn't seem like such a bad thing.

END OF THREAD

His left hand extending out in hopes of grabbing her by the arm or something.-
**

Old 02-25-2015, 01:23 AM

She slid the paper in the work out bag and headed for the door herself. She had things to do to get prepared for this evening. She didn't even realize she was humming and smiling as she exited the building and headed for housing once more. Suddenly being back didn't seem like such a bad thing.
