-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Alexa Wed Jan 25, 2006 6:09 pm Alexa gasped and screamed to Darion as they shifted. Her body falling over from the unexpected onslaught of magic. "DARION! DAMN YOU!" She growled shifting in a blinding flash back to her human form. She stalked to him and shoved him hard enough to set him off balance. Her eyes flared dark ebony as rage filled her. She reached for her sword. Her voice lowered to almost menacing.
"I told you to stand down. I don't care WHO the hell you think you are but you had NO right to assume I wanted or NEEDED rescueing. DEATH back there was going to back off." She kept her hand on the hilt at the back of her neck and began backing up from him. "Now... I want YOU to back off..." She turned then and suddenly bolted back towards the city below the crest of the hill. She let go of her sword hilt to run faster and prayed no more blood had been shed.
All she had wanted was to slay the 12 responsible for killing her Sire and Clan... how the hell did it end up this mess? __
Xavien Thu Jan 26, 2006 1:58 am A gutteral growl eminated from his throat as the animals had gotten away with the woman. He threw the sword, as it had no meaning or consequences to follow, int he direction that they had been only moments ago, and watched as it sent a shower of sparks as it traced along and slammed against the worn smooth wall of the nearest building. It fell to the street with a faint clatter that was lost beneath the sounds of the Honor Guards as they sped past on their terrifyingly augmented mounts and gave chase after the two Lycans that were moving on foot. As for the illumination of the thrown ball or orb of light, which seemed to not have taken effect, that simple resourcefullness of Xavien had seemed to have put an end to it before it could have become an hinder to the vampires. By using the living sentient cloak of darkness, and swallowing and absorbing the light like a black-hole of deeper and dense shadows.
He turned towards the speaking voice of the man upon the back of the powerful looking war-horse and seemed to say nothing and simply nodded in agreement. If indeed his words were true, and from assessment of the warriors which had rode off and broke to chase those two down, they seemed to have been more than enough, trained and seemed to have something about them, that gave him a confident thought, that they would be victorious in their endevour. " Then we shall talk. You and I," he said and then pulled his cloak more tight around his form and followed them and taking quick ganders at the rest of the column that followed the man in the tarnished armor. He spied the great sword and thought of the vast strength it would have taken in order to wield it affectively. But by observation alone, he knew this man to be Wamphyri. Blood called to blood. " And whom are you?" __
Darion Thu Jan 26, 2006 4:31 am Darion just sighed and motioned to Kae'ilk. He was the fastest of all of them, and would catch her easily. Eight legs with a longer stride than Alexa's two, plus a wide body and arms to restrain her, if needed, made him the best choice, aside from his speed. Darion, Bane and Ori all shifted back to their human forms. Bane looked like a monk, wrapped in a hooded cloak with his weapons hidden. Ori was dressed in a strange combination of leather and cotton that looked like something a court jester would wear. Her short sword was strapped to her side.
Kae'ilk would reach Alexa soon enough, and block her from continuing. He would move to intercept her wherever she tried to move to, and was prepared to leap, should she do the same. He spoke as a wise elder would, for that was exactly what he was. "Please, calm yourself. There are many factors which you are not privy to. Some things must be taken for what they are."
Darion walked up to them and offered words of his own to the female vampire. "He's right, Alexa. That Wamphyri may have let us go, but not you. He was on a mission to kill you, and still is. He would have waited for us to leave, and then taken your life, without allowing you your vengence." He moved in front of her and looked at her with heavily concerned eyes, and spoke in a tone that reflected the same. "Regardless if you know or not, or even if you care or not, you are spoken of in many prophecies, Princess. The Wamphyri don't simply target someone for fun. They had much reason to want your life ended, and we have much reason to want it in tact."
Gra'al and Ternik would make it to the wilderness in their running. That would be the downfall of several of those chasing them. It would be several minutes, and the feel of magic would be strong. Eventually, though, the riders would return, short by half a dozen, and a couple looking as if they had obviously seen better days.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Radu Thu Jan 26, 2006 4:49 am Radu bade the immaculate Knight to follow him as an equal rather than a servant or of a commoner position, towards one of the out buildings, further down the street and which seemed to have more room for accomodations. Two sentries were posted outside the doors, and they exchanged their spears wih their other hands, and opened, pushing the ouble doors open for their commander. A salute was offered by both and they recieved a nod for their loyalty. Inside, the entry way was sparse, unfurnished, and as he passed through and into the main room, the human occupants and been lined up, with a single soldier standing right behind them, one arm around their chests, and using their strength to pin their arms against their sides. The other appendages were clutching their hair and pulling back their heads, exposing the tender and meaty thin throats. He gave a gestured command, and one came forward, produced a stained dagger and ran the edge from ear to ear.
" Would you care for a refreshment?" Radu came to ask and would turn, holding out an offered chalice, filled to the brim with fresh warm, but cooling, blood.
Taking the second offering as another was dispatched in a similar fashion, for Wamphyri were highly infectious creatures. It took not but a single drop of blood, a bite, or the transfer of bodily fluids in order to turn a human or other creature into a first phase vampire. Though Radu preferred to take it straight from the source, he had or had not the desire to divulge in such lusts for the time present. He was more so interested in the Wamphyri presence in this Realm, one so far and separated from his own, and this Knight ( Xavien ) might be the key which held some or all and possibly no answers at all. An opportunity which he could not afford to pass up. But this was not the first time Radu had been away from his home, but there was that single attraction that kept drawing him back time and time again over the centuries past. He cleared his mind with a single action and then took a seat at the nearby table and gestured towards the empty one close at hand for Xavien. __
Xavien Sat Jan 28, 2006 1:59 am Xavien and reluctantly and swallowed his pride and followed this new comer towards the building in which seemed to have been overran and siezed in the aspects of taking it over and using it as shelter for the coming of the dawn. His eyes took in the details of the interior and was lost in his own thoughts, when the smell of blood became thick and heavy. The sight of the row of humans and then as two were selected, their heads snapped back and throats slit from ear to ear in a wide gaping smile. The blood had been collected and the armored warrior which was now offering him one of the chalices, which he accepted and brought it up to his lips and drank deeply, while the blood and lifeforce still retained the heated warmth. " You still have not answered my question. Who are you and whhat do you want?"
( short post IRL nephews driving me up the wall ) __
Alexa Tue Jan 31, 2006 8:26 pm Alexa growled and prepared to draw her sword against he arachnid. "How DARE you rif raf take me for a prisoner then tell me it's nthing to worry about. You say it has to do withthings I know nothing about and need not know and I call you LIARS!"
She growled and move to circle the beast before her. Vehemance flashed in her silver storm eyes and she growled once more. "Either you let me pass and depart NOW or you tell me EVERYTHING for i will nt allow others to change the destiny of my life when the bargains and risks I take pertian to MY own blood and unlife."
She stood there now facing the spider, her back to the place she desired to go as she had circled the spider twice and paused so a swift bolt to the direction her back faced would lead her to the place she had been. __
Darion Thu Feb 02, 2006 12:15 am Darion sighed and waved to Kae'ilk. The large arachnid's form shrunk down to his elderly human shape, and Darion produced a small metallic item, cylindrical in shape, and covered in runes, from the place it had been, tucked into an inner pocket of his clothing.
"As what you would consider a shaman, I have the gift of sight, or rather foresight. As is often related to visions of the future, I am also a prophet, of sorts." He held the item out to her. "This is a rod of prophecy. The only thing it is intended to do, is to identify when words of a prophecy are being spoken. When it glows blue, a true prophecy has just been recited. Otherwise, it is as you see it now."
He let go of the rod, and it fell to the ground between them. He then took a step back, and began to speak. "And it shall come to pass, that she whom the prince gave to, the gift of immortality, and is marked..." The other weres joined in now, all speaking the exact same words, at the exact same pace, with the exact same pitch, though the unique tone of each of their voices added a near ominous effect. "...shall come with storms in her eyes, with the gift of calm. Through her, and those who choose to stand with her, immortality shall be calmed."
They all stopped speaking, and Darion looked directly at her. He still wasn't positive if she was able to detect magic or not, but it made no difference. The only magic that would be sensed, would be directly from the rod. For as soon as the four of them finished speaking, it shone brightly, and would do so until other words, not included in a prophecy, began to be spoken, again.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Radu Thu Feb 02, 2006 1:30 am " In this current phase...I am Lord Radu Basarab Ferenczy, Lord of the Wamphyri, at your service."
He said with a ginger snapped tone. A wicked tongue removed the traces of the supped upon blood from his lips as the unnatural grace and fluidity of his body seemed to have him shift from one location, in the blink of an eye, to another. He regarded the second Wamphyri Lord, in his own right. It would do them a great justice if the Knight would consent and join the mighty army that would be marching back towards the Fortress that he shared with Atra'Lamia of the Darkbane. It was then, that commotion rose on the outside of their sanctuary, as the returnng, or what was left of the returning Honour Guards had arrived. The door was opened for those that were now battle worn and in need of rest and nourishment. The lead soldier explained the situation and why they were only a few short Guards remaining, as well as throwing down the hides of the two that had been eventually brought down like the beast they were.
" Excellent. Now send word to Malagen. Have him select his best warriors, and track the rest of those vermin down, and destroy them. Leave none alive and bring me the girl in their company," he said, draining the last drop of blood from his chalice and throwing it over his shoulder with a deft motion. __
Xavien Sat Feb 04, 2006 3:03 am The blood within the chalice had lost resemblance to that which he craved beyond anything else in the world. A few drinks here and there and it had given sway and gave up the ghost of heat and cooled to a unrelaxed chill of dead and dying vitae. Tossing it aside with a shattering of his civilized demeanor, turning as the contents spilled languidly in a spreading poolupon the hardwood floor under his feet. He spied the returning troops that he had seen giving chase, as they came back with little over or less than half that had been sent out. To the skinned pelts they had to show forth for their lesser earned victory, one that should have been his own, of all things. He sneered at them for a moment, as he turned and cocked his head in the direction of the one who had introduced himself as none other than Lord Radu Basarab Ferenczy.
Was the name and accompanied title supposed to mean anything? He had not known very many others than those that he had crossed paths with in the past, and they were relatively weaker and in a few great numbers. Xavien was not privvy to knowing the full intensity of the power which stood before him, though he had a nagging suspicion that if Radu wanted and flexed his untapped potentials, that he would be no match for this calm, suave and sophisticated creature. His eyes adverted as he listened to the instruction the other Wamphyri Lord was curently instructing towards those that had gathered in his presence. The way he seemed to handle them with a uncanny ability of Leadership. Was he feeling jealousy? His pride welling up inside his throat, forming a lump that was hard to digest and to swallow.
" And if I oppose to this mutual arrangement, I suppose it would be in my best interest to do so, or perish?" __
Alexa Sun Feb 05, 2006 10:18 pm Alexa growled as they chanted the words of the Gand to her. She had heard such prophecies. Her own Sire had been foolish enough to believe it was her as well. He had even given her the mark and seen the storms in her eyes temper many a Conclave when his own rage would have fueled it.
"You are all foolish if you believe in the old ways." She watched at the rob dimmed and went cold at her feet. "I can speak prophecy as well...." She took a step towards the rod and looked at them each in turn. Finishing the Gand's words the rod would glow as well as it had for them.
"She will come, with midnight hair streaked in stars. Her fierceness will calm the beasts that dwell within and without. And no one shall doubt her for no one shall slay her. Her healing of all kinds will hinder those that seek to claim her and her wrath shall undo the wickedness of the unclean and bring peace to the Otherworlders."
She stepped back letting them all see the rod glow. Then she spoke again, the rod once more growing calm then dim once more. "You are all foolish. I am no hero, no Mistress of Peace come to enlighten the clans. I am merely a woman, a vampyre, like the others of my kind. I seek only revenge. For THAT is the only wrath I have." She turned suddenly and leapt towards the other side of the glade to return to the city where they had come from. She would leap high enough to pass outside simple arm's reach of the wolf man who had stood behind her thinking herself fast enough in the act to clear him and run before they gathered their wits about them enough to follow.
She whispered only a single word meant for Darion's ears alone. "Sorry."
In the air in midleap she thought of only one thing. To find the rest and kill them for slaying her Sire. Perhaps then she would leave the world behind and slumber till another century passed.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Radu Mon Feb 06, 2006 12:42 am Malagen the Black
Word had come by the way of running messengers, vampiric soldiers that were more than a blurr over the distance that was and had been travelled. The entire army of Dartara was being mobilized and separating, breaking off into two factions. The bulk and main force of the Dartaran Horde would make for the fortress designated by Radu the Ferenczy, there the commander in charge would heed the words and rulership of one Atra'Lamia Darkbane, who the Wamphyri Lord seemed to have fallen for. The other faction of some five hundred soldiers, Malagen would take them and began to march and the hunt for the elusive Lycans and their captive female prize. He employed brainwashed beasts ( Lycans ), their own kind to serve as trackers, scouting ahead and searching for signs of their passing. Aerial units had been launched, with manta-ray like flyers, forming diamond patterns in the night skies, carpeting the forests and refuges with primitive explosives and hurling boulders from the taloned underbellies of the gas propelled beasts.
Ballistas and catapults were pulled along by Composite Warrior creatures, armored chitin soldiers that were more or less bred and designed for war, with their multiple appendaged forms, each with hooks and blades for cutting and tearing away. Villages were ransacked here and there. Humans were used as cattle and often time taken for slaves to refill their travelling pantries and the every day to day job of upkeep while the vampires slept. They marched endless without complaint, coming through the village which Radu was previous in attendance, and heading in the direction which most likely the Lycans had fled. Spies were sent out amongst the region, reporting back tales and leads from far and wide. The search continued and drawing closer still with each passing moment that slips through time unaltered. __
Darion Thu Feb 09, 2006 2:02 am Darion sighed as Alexa fled, once more, toward those that wished her life permanantly ended, while he simultaneously got a vision of what was to happen. He turned to his companions and spoke. "The vampires are tracking us using the signature of energy from our transport, as well as mind-wiped lycans. Return to your homelands. Join up with different packs there. I hereby disband this pack, and sever all ties to the spirit world of which we have had." This act would break the aura of power that could have been used to find them. They each still had their individual abilities, but the essence of them would change as they were previously linked to one another through their spirit totem. The pack abilities, such as the one they had used to transport themselves away, were now gone, and thus unable to be traced.
Darion then looked to his old packmates, one last time. "You all have the ability to alter your aura. Do so when you are at least half a mile away from one another, so that your scent cannot be tracked by the other lycans. Our destiny lies now on seperate paths. I must follow the prophecies that were foretold of me, of how I was to guide the princes daughter." He saluted them all. "Be well, my friends."
With that, Darion turned and took off after Alexa, picking up the rod as he went, and changing to his lupus form for maximum speed. The other lycans would turn, saddened away from each other, after short goodbyes, and follow the directions of their ex-leader. Darion would catch up to Alexa, and change forms to match her pace when he did. "I don't care if you believe the prophecies or not, Princess. I do, and I know my destiny lies with you. If that only means I must help you avenge your clan, then so be it, but you will not do this alone." __
Alexa Fri Feb 10, 2006 1:54 pm Alexa ran without breaknig stride and listened to Darion's words. Things like "princess" and "prophecy" hadn't been spoken around her in nearly 100 years, and it troubled her now to hear them once more when it seemed pointless with everyone gone.
She didn't bother looking at him or shrugging even but spoke even and soft as if not caring. "Do as you wish, but stay out of my way and do NOT call me 'Princess'. My Sire, the Prince, is dead. I have no rank nor place to reign anymore. And speak of prophecies again and we shall see if the smith's report of silver being laced in my blade is true." She glanced at him then for a moment and smiled. It was a cold uncaring smile meant to instill the truth of her words to him.
Looking back towards the town she made a mental calculation and prayed she was right. She hoped she could reach the outskirts, and find a dark home, to rest for the coming dawn. She shivered inwardly sensing its approach. A couple more hours, no more, was all she had.
And nearly three hours of ground to cover still. She picked her speed up a bit to make use of it now knowing when dawn began to approach she would slow anyway.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sentient Nine Sun Feb 12, 2006 4:34 am Quote: - mosies on in, and tips back the brim of his hat - I have to interject for the moment. This was brought to my attention, as it is now my position to handle such situations. The seeing of the future, and with the Future being an entity that guards its secrets well, images and such should be gathered in bits and broken fragments, not often times making sense, as seeing the future is never so straight forward and easy to figure out. The deal with the mind-raped Lycans, I can see that being known, but the fact that Xavien can track Alexa through the mental connection she made previously. I will state below, the ability where that comes into play...and the the second that would keep Darion from being able to figure out how they are still able to track them. Thank you and have a very pleasant evening. - Sean.
Telepathy - Mentalism -(Wamphyri/Vampire/Szgany): Communication by way of thought is an old talent of the wamphyri and something they make good use of. They delight in slipping undetected into another?s mind and twisting thoughts around. Simple communication is also a useful way to use this ability especially when speaking of things you would like kept secret.
If one allows access to their minds to a wamphyri than they are inviting trouble as once invited in a wamphyri may insinuate himself there in the future without being granted permission and may even be able to twist your thoughts sufficiently to alter your actions. Any prolonged telepathic communication with a wamphyri may even result with your body being subsumed by said wamphyri to use as he/she sees fit. However only mortals need worry about this along with weak fledglings.
Mind-smog - Innate -(Wamphyri/Vampire): In a world where others may poke around in your mind and read your thoughts it is useful to have mind fog. This ability makes the thoughts of a wamphyri unreadable and also prevents Locators from pinpointing your exact location. When a telepath encounters somebody using this ability they will detect nothing but a blank ?fog?. There is no way around this. This ability requires some concentration when it is being learned so hence fledglings may still be susceptible to having their minds read by an older wamphyri.
( taken from radu's descriptions left on the Dracul Family thread with permission ) __ Xavien Sun Feb 12, 2006 4:54 am Xavien would and had come to agree with the terms that had been offered. Perhaps it would serve a mutual purpose for the time being, throwing his lot in with these other Wamphyri. He thought more on the possibility as how he could some how use this toward his advantage, and how many of the unworthy a force like this could annihilate over the course of a single night. He said nothing more and would excuse himself on the behalf of the approaching dawn. Though his true intentions were to join up with Malagen and his comrades that had passed through only an hour or so ago, by the coming of the following evening. The connection which Alexa had made with hismidn before this massive army had arrived, he would use this to follow her and to guide those that followed them towards their location.
With dawn only a few moments away, he did not get very far, but far enough, even on foot with his exact speed of flight, on the outskirts and found a small farmhouse in which to hide from the encroaching and lethal light of the burning furnance glare. The aroused family by the sounds of his intrusion were merely no match for his strength. Overcomed and driven by his own lusts, he took the family of four one by one. Draining each of their blood and making sure they were truly dead and that none of himself had been left behind to taint and pollute their bodies. With brutal force he made it and went as far as to make look like wild beasts had done this and excused himself to rest int he cool dark basement until the night could find him rejuvenated once again. Sleep had found him quickly, as the sun began to rise and he slipped into a pool of fancied dreams.
