Zephyrus took his new disciple into the training grounds and spoke, “Power. Power is a fantastic thing. Physical dominance is only one part of power. To truly dominate your enemies you must learn the philosophy of power as it is far more a destructive force than brute force, like some of the teachers preach here.” he said with mild disgust. “If you want anything.... I can teach you how to obtain it, it will only take a simple matter of time... but something tells me that you are of the patient variety.” he pause allowing her ego to be bolstered at the small complement he offered her. "I must ask you a question. Are you willing to suffer while I am exalted? And might I be perfectly clear... the way you answer matters in how I will train you. You will either be one of my minuscule pawns or my distinguished students... the choice is yours." He reiterated so she would be perfectly clear on the question, "Are you willing to suffer while I am exalted?" Zephyrus had a method to his questioning, he needed to know what kind of creature he was dealing with.

As he released her hand and began to pace, she watched him. He was like a cat, ready to pounce. Not the pet variety that would leap to your bed and pounce your hand for a bit of scratching. He was the kind that would pounce you to your back and claw your face off just to hear you scream. She knew she had chosen a harsh task master. It was confirmed when she heard his question...
“Are you willing to suffer while I am exalted?”
Those words would probably haunt her for the rest of her life. How far was she truly willing to go?
“If my suffering teaches me as much as it exalts you, then yes. If you are to make me suffer and find that it truly teaches me nothing other than you are simply more powerful,” she raised her head in defiance and stubbornness. “Then the answer is no.”
She had heard his words and spoke back. She hoped he would get used to it... she did it often. “Power is only dominance if your subject learns from it as well. Otherwise, it is merely a beating, physical or mental.” She watched him and hoped now, as she would every time she opened her lips, that she was not speaking wrongly.

He smiled, "Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. We will certainly need to quell that tongue of yours. Law number one of true power: always make the master feel superior even if he is not. To lull him into a false sense of power is key in making your own destiny." he paused, "You see the key here is that I am superior..." a devilish grin crossed his face, "It seems as though you will need to follow Law Four more closely." he cleared his throat. "Ehem... Law Four: Keep your words to yourself, whenever possible. The more you say, the more common you appear, and the less in control." This was the first time he said them out of order, but that made it all the more interesting to test her on her memory, "Now you think I am merely going to beat you into submission or with my words? Hardly..." he approached her now looking into her eye keeping the devilish grin upon his face. Their face's literally within inches, "...I have so many means of control." he said coolly.

Sahra listened to the words and heeded them. She did keep her mouth shut this time. * If I can lull you into a false sense of power, then you are no Master at all... * her mind whispered but this time she kept her lips shut and half smiling as she listened.
When he walked towards her, her chin lifted slightly and her stance altered. He may notice if he was looking, though few unpracticed in seeing it would have seen her shift so weight was equal on both legs... knees slightly bent and her hands loose at her side. She knew training from him would not start with “Let's begin” so she prepared herself and hoped it would be enough. As he spoke the words of have many means of control, she spoke only what she hoped was right and proper.... “Show me...” The grin she gave back was as equally devilish and predatory.

He shook his head, "Not quite yet... you have yet to learn the basics, deary." he laughed. "All in due time." he paced some more, "I want you to focus on an event in your life in which you felt powerless... unable to change a certain event from happening through your own weakness. It enraged you quite a bit, no? Focus on that raw emotion, let it wash over you." he paused. "When you have the emotion firmly in place, let me know."
OOC: Sorry bout the slow posting... just these finals are killing me. I'll be posting a lot faster soon though.

Sahra heard him say “Not yet” she smiled. Yet meant sometime to come. So he was not telling her he would never show her. Just wasn't going to happen at this moment.
Just as the first words left her hopeful and eager, the words that followed left a coldness in her that she couldn't explain. A time when you felt powerless... enraged... focus on that...
The image that sprang to mind unbidden was so raw and vivid that she actually gasped from it. She bit her lip and closed her eyes trying to will the memory away. She wasn't that person anymore... she... “Noooo...” the word fell from between her lips half whisper half growl.
Sixteen. How can anyone have true power at sixteen? You were supposed to be protected at that point, not in need of protection. He had been a teacher. She had been failing his class and he had asked her to stay after school. She had been nervous. She liked the teacher and was a little excited. One on one time with a gorgeous single man who paid attention to her was like a dream come true.
But something had gone wrong. She and Mr Nichols had been discussing Moornomer, a Tattoine born author who wrote in a style of poetic prose that was sometimes hard to follow but beautiful to hear when read properly. The door had burst open and three thugs had come in. They had come to vandalize but had found people instead. Rather than simply kill them, or bind and ignore them, they had chosen more violence than her mind had thought possible at the time. They had killed the teacher nearly immediately, but her... they had taken their time. The blood that spilled, the flesh that they chose to rend from her body was slow, painful and malicious with no rhyme or reason to it.
“Now... what...” she growled between her teeth, fists clenched as the rage overtook her and she embraced the rage rather than the memories of tears and helplessness. Raising back to full height, she glared at him with eyes as predatory and malicious as those she recalled seeing. Her body shivered with pain and rage. She had sworn that day that she would never be helpless again... and would never let another man harm her... ever.

"Now...? Now you use it." he said lifting a rock with Force Levitate. "Your emotions power your abilities and from what I can tell... you do have some strong emotions." he waited for her to do as she was told, and he knew she could do it. "Tell me dear what do you know of the force?"
***

Use it... It sounded so easy. She watched him raise the rock effortlessly and glanced to one of similar size next to it. *Rise* her mind thought. The trouble was, she fairly shouted it to the inanimate object. Instead of the single rock rising to chest height as she planned, it and three others close to it shot straight up as if blow from a blaster. A small growl escaped her as she suddenly slammed down her shielding in her mind so swift and completely that not only did the rocks plummet back to the ground, but anyone tuned to her would have the momentary sensation that her own life force had been snuffed out.
The sensation would have lasted barely half a heartbeat. Soon as the emotions were cut off and the rocks were falling, she exhaled and her 'sense of self' returned to normal. "Apparently not enough," she growled again and unclenched her fists having never realized the tightness till it was released.
She looked at Zeph and shook her head. "I only know that it is an energy that everything and everyone emits. And I know that at the height of emotions, rage... anger... hatred and even passion, I can move things, make people do things, and even tell what others are feeling. My problem is control. It's all or nothing." She raised an eyebrow and nodded to the stones. "Needless to say, I haven't come CLOSE to mastering subtletym" she smiled and shrugged doubting this man ever smiled.
Something she would have to find a remedy to someday.

He looked her over, "Come now..." he said slowly moving himself to the floor kneeling on the ground and closing his eyes. "Meditate with me." he commanded of her. Each student was different of course and apparently this student needed a certain amount of understanding and Zephyrus was caught in a good enough mood to provide that. He motioned for her to stand in front of him. "Calm and patience... well that is not normally the Sith way." he exhaled deeply, "But you my dear are unable to control that rage of yours. It is a strong weapon but just like a lightsaber without proper training you are more likely to wound yourself than your opponent. The Force happens to help you with both of those weapons. Breathe in. Feel the force around you. Feel the force in me." He emitted his power as an easy beacon for her to lock on. "Do you feel my aura?"

She watched him kneel and listened. She absorbed every word as if it was the elixir she had come seeking all her life.
“Calm and patience... well that is not normally the Sith way.” She laughed softly. Somehow, she could never see this man as calm nor patient. Though as he knelt and spoke, her perception of him altered slightly. His analogy to the light saber was one she knew all too well. On more than one occasion her own blades had nearly killed her or her target when she didn't wish such extreme measures. She was so wrapped up in the moment at times that the power was almost rampant and overwhelming.
When he motioned for her to step closer, her body paused just within reach of his long arms. It was a sign of trust in her and she doubted the proximity was lost on him. If he wished to sweep her off her feet or push her over backwards to test her balance and centering, she wouldn't shy from it. This is what lessons were for.
“Breathe in...” She closed her eyes a moment and inhaled deeply before exhaling slowly. “Feel the Force around you. Feel the Force in me.” She sent her mind and body senses outwards as if there was a physical ability to the sensation of sense. When he asked if she felt his aura, she nodded slightly.
“I can sense a … a difference in the direction of you. A spacial difference in the energy coming from your direction. Even with my eyes closed, I can....” She furrowed her brow slightly as if concentrating, “I can almost see in my mind the outline of you. I can feel you lower and more compact that when you are standing. It is almost like ….” she shook her head. “I can't describe it... but I can sense you there. And the difference in denseness of other things around me.” She couldn't give words to what she was sensing, but if he could read her mind, he would sense the awe as little things she suspected and considered in the past, suddenly started to click into place for her.

He nodded. "This is good. You are seeing with your mind's eye. This is a Force technique in which you can determine a lot about a person without knowing them. Tell me what can you determine about me through my aura, deary?" he asked peeking through one of his eyes.

She never opened her eyes, but felt him shift slightly and altered her stance without thinking to remain in relatively the same position to him. “There... is a rage.. like the deepest blue you can imagine... I always imagined rage would be red.” The last was almost whispered like a thought given voice. “But there is more... a tautness. Like a string pulled to its limit.” She smiled as it dawned on her. “Power... I can sense power in you. Always ready... always pulled as if ready to be released.”
She turned her head towards the left slowly as if listening for some far off sound no one else could hear. Then, equally slow, she turned it to the right and cocked her head as if she were a predator listening for a rabbit's rapid heartbeat. “A calmness... beneath the rage, the power... there is a calmness...” She opened her eyes slowly and stared straight at him as if seeing him for the first time. Her voice this time was almost a whisper, as if speaking the coming words aloud would somehow ruin the entire fabric of the universe around them. “And a longing... There is a hole within you, Lord Destru... No,” she shook her head slightly and corrected herself, “No, not in Lord Destru... Destru is incomplete, but it is because he is still growing. This is a void within Zephyrus Cloud.... there is a part of you missing still.” And her mind finished her thoughts, unaware and unthinking that he may possibly hear it. *And I want to so desperately help....*

Force Communication? he smiled. You are indeed a quick learner... or perhaps you didn't mean to...? He projected into her mind. He then sighed deeply, "You read me well..." his eyes told one story while his smile told a completely different, "Almost too well." he paused, "Your a sweet girl for wanting to help me in my strife not even knowing my predicament... you will get eaten alive here being a sweet girl." he announced truthfully. "There is nothing you can do to help me... so it's best you rid that thought from your mind." he rose to his feet. "Are you perhaps ready to try again?" he said referencing the levitation of the rocks.

*Force communication!?* Her mind reeled as she stood back a pace. “You … you heard me?” She had heard him in her mind and the open shock on her face was confirmation enough that she had no idea she had been capable... or that it was possible. Must be why I could hear the mens' thoughts and knew how to manipulate them, she thought to herself. Now if only she could control it.
“It is not hard to find a tear in a well worn comforter when it it spread willingly before you, Sir.” She nodded unsure if Master was the proper term, though he was teaching her. “And to help someone does not make me a 'sweet girl' that will be... how did you say... eaten alive.” She smiled and winked. “Not all help accepted makes one weak either,” she stepped close enough not to be almost too close if he was going to take offense. She looked up at him as he towered just a touch over her height and tried to speak to his mind. *Did it ever occur to you that in my helping fill that void... you may become stronger? A 'whole' object usually is...* She let the comment stick a moment and stepped back. "Perhaps it is why I came here... and why you found it in you to not slay me in the courtyard..."
Without another word, and her eyes still locked to his, she put her hands out to her side and the stones to either side of her, nearly half a dozen in total, slowly lifted from the ground. They rose slowly at first, then shot up nearly to the height of her chest before she gasped and bit her lip frowning. The stones stopped their assent and her chin wavered slightly as she tried to hold them in place and still smile sarcastically at Zeph.

He was happy to see her progress quickly and to see her manipulative nature too was admirable. "Trust me I know it is not within your power to help me. You can not bring back what was lost for me... I must do it myself. If you could in fact help I would take you up on the offer." he paused a moment thinking to himself, To have her back in my arms I would do anything... He drifted for a moment then immediately returned to the moment. "Now then... we should continue... I imagine." He pointed at the far end of the training grounds atop a pillar a training saber. "Retrieve it..." he paused. "...You're being timed."
***

She felt more than heard his words. Something pained him deeply. It wasn't missing, it had left. Whatever it was. Perhaps in time she could help. But now was not it.
As he said they should continue, she gasped and released the rocks letting them once more thump to the ground.
“Retrieve it...” he said and pointed across the training grounds. As he mentioned being timed, she took off at full run. But halfway there it dawned on her.... stopping and planting her feet firm, she pointed her hand in the direction of the saber. She tried to pull it towards her waiting hand, but like the rocks, she was still unfocused. The saber tottered a bit then flew in her direction with enough speed to probably hurt her hand if not knock her out. A small squeal of anger at the loss of control was followed by the immediate shut down once more. The saber, no longer bid to her hand, fell to the ground a couple feet from her. She ran to it and scooped it up before rushing back to Zeph's side.
Her face was red, but not from the run. Her anger at loss of control was the cause. And a small growl escaped her lips before she half growled to herself, absently pushing a strand of hair from her face, “You can do better, Widow... no excuses.” She held the saber to him and remained silent awaiting his judgment at her performance.

He nodded, "You used your brains over your brawn, but you still lack focus." He tore the saber from her hands with the force. "Not good enough. Do it again." he told her sternly, levitating the saber back to it's original position. "This time I want you to use the force to enhance your movements feel the force in your muscles, run faster jump higher... I doubt your time will be as good... but you'll fumble less." he said with a mild sense of humor.

She narrowed her eyes with determination as the saber left her flat out palm and sailed back to its helpless perch. It seemed to high to jump to, but... maybe she didn't have to jump all the way up...
She unclasped the robe at her shoulders and let it drop behind her. Surely a Lord or Master wouldn't be hindered by such a mundane thing, but she wasn't a Lord or Master...
...yet.
She took off at an easy pace and tried to pull the focus inwards; to feel the Force in herself as she had felt Destru moments before. She felt a bit of speed but it was her focus that sharpened first. She felt every muscle as it worked independently. She didn't focus on speed as accuracy.
She was still several feet from the pillar when she leapt. But it wasn't up... it was as if she was going to jump straight into the middle of the stone edifice before her. If she missed, it would be not only be painful, but most likely almost anecdotal in the hysterical department. She reached upwards and bent one knee. Her right arm rose straight up as she tugged at the saber just out of reach. Her right knee rose as if she were going to leap up onto the obelisk. But instead of wasting the full jump in height, she used the arching motion towards the stone to catch her foot against. As the saber landed in her hand, she twisted and used the pillar's surface to push herself back towards her mentor. Landing slightly off balance, she went to one knee then launched like a runner back towards him. This time there was no need to anything more than brute speed so she focused her mind on extending her muscles a split second before they actually did, thus adding a moment of speed to to movement. As she literally skidded to a halt before Zephyrus, she held her palm out once more and there was a rather malicious smile on her face. “That could get addictive.” She laughed softly, though anyone listening would hardly have categorized it as mirth in the tone.

He nodded, "It certainly can be... just ask Daniel Aldan...." he said thinking about how it turned the man old as blackness filled his veins. "Now ignite the blade, swing it around. Get a feel for it. We will commence in your training and put it to use... in combat..." He would of course go easy on her, if he went all out he would snuff out one of the best prospects he had come across.... he did not want to do that.

“Daniel Alden?” She asked but didn't truly expect an answer. Even mentors said rhetoric things once in a while.
As she rolled the saber over in her hand till the activation button was under her thumb, it occurred to her she had never used one. “Can't be much different than a sword...” she murmured, unaware if it had been spoken aloud or thought to him. She backed up and powered the energy weapon on. The hum in her hand momentarily blinded her, sight and sound, to everything around her. The fact she was sensing the Force around her now made it double hard. Like a light being lit suddenly in darkness, the blade in her hand suddenly blackened everything out around her. After a moment of awe, she swung it back and forth getting the feel and balance of it. She removed her focus from the pure light of it to the balance. Her mind shifted from the hum of the blade to how she moved and balanced herself with it in her grasp.
She turned her back nearly fully to Destru and moved in a simple kata that allowed her to focus on something familiar and comfortable so she could concentrate on the unique.
She let her body move with the kata and while it was slightly awkward due to the unfamiliar weapon in her hand, she was managing to get the hang of it. Slowly she turned so she could watch him watch her. She wondered absently what he was thinking, but thought better of asking.
“Now what?” She asked as she headed into the final moves of the drill.

He smiled, "Attack me." he replied simplistically allowing the sensation of the Force to wash over him. He was looking forward to showing his skills to his new plaything... he was going to show her the magnitude of his power. He stood there waiting for her to attack looking directly into her eyes.... to see her moves before they happened.

“Attack me...”
The words seemed simple. But simple, the task was not.
She stepped left foot in front of right... then right in front of the left...
The light saber moved slow then fast, fast then slow. She was still a bit wobbly but the determined look and the desire to please was foremost on her mind. Then it dawned on her... her moves... he would sense them.
She stared into his eyes and her mind slowly began to go blank. It was hard to think of nothing but she instead focused on the simple color of black. Darkness, infinity, the unknown... She was thinking of slicing towards him from the right but as her blade began that way, she followed thru at the last second and came from his left. If he were following her thoughts he would simply hear, “Darkness... right.... infinity... straight at his middle... the unknown... right...” but then the blur would come from his left. She put everything she was into the swing and tried her hardest to visualize it slicing thru the edge of his robes.

He didn't have to read her thoughts or body language to outmaneuver her, he was more in tune with the force... he was faster. He quickly side stepped her haphazard swing that lacked form, "Come girl you can do better than that." a devilish smirk taunting her to do better.

Sahra growled and lunged again. Time and again she swung, yet time and again that grin of his, along with taunts seemed to deflect her blows and spin her around.
After what seemed like a lot longer than a candle mark, she had almost thought she couldn't last any longer. Then it occurred to her. She started to swing at him like every time before, but this time she used her swing towards his left lower leg follow thru. But just as it reached the point of no return, she released her left hand from her saber and palm up towards his left side, she 'reached' for the rocks behind him.
She wasn't concentrating enough to control them with precision, but the rocks lunged towards her beckoning hand... his body lay in that path.
If the ploy worked, she was sure the energy weapon's strike would easily be deflected. But she hoped the rocks, now coming straight for the middle of his back would land true and distract him enough that her she may get an additional swing in undetected. She brought her teeth together in concentration and was oblivious to the small line of blood that trickled down from the corner of her already crimson lips as she pricked the skin in her desire to remain upright just a few … more... moments.

Zephyrus' senses were at their peak, everything was almost in slow motion for him. She was clever to use the force to attempt a distraction, oh she was good indeed. She was learning quickly. It was time for her to learn what it was to feel lightsaber against lightsaber. Zephyrus used his speed advantage jumping over her saber, he quickly ignited his own and slapped it in the same direction against hers adding to the momentum. By this point the rocks were now in front of him, simple target practice. Flaunting his speed and precision he made sure he hit each one. Blood Zephyrus' eyes grew a little darker red, "Shhh..." Zephyrus hushed the voice in his head. I didn't hit her.... Zephyr thought curiously.

As he leapt over her saber, she jump back in shock then watched him discharge the rocks as if they had been tossed to him one by one. From shock, and her tap into the Force, the leap took her about two saber lengths from her teacher.
Blood...
She watched his eyes grow a little redder and tilted her head. "Yes, blood" Her mind thought most vehemently, thinking that the word had come from her own thoughts as a goal to achieve.
She was about to step back in when subconsciously she licked the coppery vitae from her lips. Because she wasn't really trying, the blood only disappeared from her upper lip. What was on the lower corner, and had dripped just beyond the width of her lips, was still there as she moved in to strike once more. She saw his saber and realized now that perhaps she could at least show some skill. Her own energy beam whipped towards him again as her mind tried to remember old sword lessons one by one.
As the lessons swirled in her mind, the word came once more... Blood... this time she simply said it as a mantra of a goal...
…. not realizing, still, that it was he who had thought it first...

His saber met hers and sparks flew around them. That part of him... that villainous part of his uncle was shining through, influencing him to cut the flesh of the weaker, attractive type. It was getting harder to control, as much as Zephyrus hated Corrius somehow his mannerisms had slowly been seeping into his own. No one was truly safe around him. He threw his heavy cybernetic leg hard in toward her leg looking to bring her down with a hard kick a psychosis building inside him. He wanted to hurt her... he needed to hurt her. His breathing grew heavier. "Oh deary... it's a bad day for you." a voice not of his own poured from his mouth.
***
05-17-2011, 10:47 PM Sahra
She watched him change. He was shifting from a balanced teacher to an unbalanced antagonist. His strikes were more precise and less room was given for her to adjust and learn from them. As he pressed the attack their sabers joined at one point and they slide towards one another till hilts touched.
The crackle of power between the energy weapons was like screaming in her head and as she was about to ask what the matter was, she saw it. He had taught her how to see him just a few hours before. So it was with that sight knowledge that she realized something had changed.
Something was different.
“Oh deary... it's a bad day for you.” A strange voice echoed from within him.
Something was wrong!
“Not if I can help it.” But as his foot headed for her leg, she couldn't stop it. Her Force training wasn't yet able to divide itself between tasks and it was taking everything she had to keep him at arms length and away from her head. So when the contact with her leg forced her to twist, bend and fall or have her leg seriously wounded, she screamed in pain and went down.
That was when her Dark Side ability kicked in. She hadn't known till now that this skill of protection was a product of the Force till now. She only knew that when her life was threatened, she was able to do things she couldn't normally do.
Her feet shoved out with Force Speed and pressed towards his shins with all her might. If contact happened he would fall. She only hoped it wasn't saber first into her chest as she braced herself to roll over if it came to it.

He came at her in a blind conniving fury. He smiled as she screamed in pain, "Yes deary, scream for me." He flowed her only to get knocked back by her furious scramble falling to a knee. He laughed a devious laugh, "Oh darling you know I like it rough." He pursued her, her terror-striken eyes fueled him. He lunged. His saber came down toward her and just before he struck he managed to hold up. The blade stayed above her slightly, he breathed in and out heavily. His stare went blank and slowly his breath calmed and his clouded over gaze disappeared. "How's your leg? Are you hurt?" He said snuffing out the blade of light with a flick of his switch. He acted as if nothing had happened yet internally was in terror. They were getting more powerful as he fell further to the dark side. This was the first time that it had been such a serious thing where one of his student's lives hung in the balance. Zephyrus was afraid... disgusted that that man had taken him for his own desires. He offered his hand to help her up, he would have hurt her anyway... perhaps not so badly though had he been in complete control it was a nice transition to the next technique.

“Yes, deary, scream for me.” As he stumbled back she tried to scramble from his reach. But on her back on the ground it only took two strides for him to cover the distance. As his blade came down she screamed again.
She had been about to try Force Pull to drag him off balance as he swung, but was grateful when he pulled the swing at the last moment. She felt and saw the shift back to himself and growled low. “I am fine!” She would never admit to a teacher that she was unable to continue. It wasn't in her to do so. She rose to her feet, switching off her own saber as she did so, and stood before him ready for whatever was to come next.
Her mind screamed “What the wookie scream was that?” but she didn't truly want the answer. Not yet. She wanted to let him tell her in good time. Something told her it had to do with the missing piece of himself. She just hadn't figured out how it was part of it. In time, perhaps... if her pressing curiosity didn't get her killed first.
“Don't coddle me, Destru. Please. It does neither of us justice.” She brushed him off with attitude because something told her the terror and panic she felt was from him. And that small voice inside her told her that the knowledge she knew, wouldn't endear her to him.

He looked her over, "If you truly are fine as you say then... I'm actually going to have to hurt you." he said coldly. "It's actually part of the training." he said igniting his saber again. "Do you want to go through that again or do you want to tell me the truth?" She was strong he could give her that... but she too was thick-headed.

When he said he was going to have to hurt her, she realized that maybe this time truth was better than fiction. “It hurts.” She finally admitted and took a couple experimental steps forward and winced growling. “Ok, it really hurts.” She didn't like the sound of him having to hurt her purposefully, so this time she would see what was in store without truly antagonizing him. ***

He put the saber away and nodded. "Smart girl." A smile crossed his face. "I'm sure by now you realize the powers the force gives you.... while healing is a Jedi ability we Sith can rid the thought of pain from our mind... not completely but mostly." he sat down on a large boulder. "Just will the pain from your mind." he said it as if it were a simple task. "Doing this will allow you to continue fighting in dire necessitates."

Sahra heard the words and her mind reeled. To be able to ignore pain, continue to fight, finish better than the opponent and walk away to lick wounds out of sight? Who wouldn't want that?
She stood up a little straighter and pulled the anger at his hurting her to the fore of her mind. She made it tangible like a wall and in that thought, she realized that pain was an emotion as well.
Her eyes never left his. If he could read her thoughts he would sense her putting the pieces together. She turned her pain in her leg to a physical stone. And just as she had learned to Force Pull a training saber from the pillar, she used that vision to focus and force the pain back with the rage of being hurt..
While he watched, he would see the dark eyes of confusion and pain slowly melt to the deep determined eyes of one who was finally making a connection.
This time, the next two steps she took towards him were hardly felt at all. More like a half remembered injury from days before, whose lingering bruises still reminded you that you weren't quite fully yourself yet.
Stopping before him she smiled that same smile she had greeted him with in the courtyard. Stubborn determination and desire met and her lips whispered again the first words she had uttered on this training ground just half a day prior....
“Show me more....”

He nodded, "I will... in due time. That is truly all I have for you now. You will have to wait." he rose to his feet. "There has to be something to work for... go test your abilities on your peers." he paused, "Realize now your actions reflect me... and I'll tell you this I do not like to look bad." He tilted his head slightly, "Just a thought. I'll seek you out when I think you're ready to continue. If you need to find me for some reason just follow my aura..." he began to walk away, "Any questions?"

More... soon...
She had been accepted. He would teach her more. She straightened a bit more and nodded. "I will not let you down, Teacher. You have my word on that." She nodded respecfully and stepped back to give him room if he wished to depart.
As he asked if she had any more questions, she let out a soft laugh. "Perhaps one... where shall I reside? I am sure sleeping in the courtyard is allowed. However I somehow doubt living there, or here for that matter, would be looked upon so kindly."
As he turned to respond she wouldn't be able to resist taunting him one final time. "I am sure I could find room in your chambers. But I highly doubt you could put up with me that much. And your other students would most likely be jealous." She crossed her arms teasing, chin lifted slightly as she leered at him, smirking. She didn't want him leaving with the last memory of her being her pain or his fall into... whatever it had been. She knew he smiled. He had to. And even if she couldn't get him to smile for her, she knew the comment would bring a grin to his face when he recalled it later.
She was far from kind, but when one knew of a weakness, you didn't exploit it... not in your teacher...
... at least not till you had learned all you could from them.

Zephyrus did smile at her, "Careful what you offer." he responded returning the teasing nature. He paused a brief moment acting as if he'd take her up on the offer then he finally said "You will reside in the the chambers to the west of here with all of the other disciples and warriors if it's too cramped for you.... well that will give you something to work for. I will be down the hall in the Knight quarters in the far back and out of the way... I tend to like my privacy." he continued to walk away, "Keep that in mind if you choose to visit." He disappeared down the hall, his footsteps rang out loud and slowly faded. ***

Sahra smiled and took one more step towards him as he spoke. For the fleeting of a half a heartbeat, she honestly thought he would take her up on the offer. It made her heart race with fear and desire both. Desire in that she could not recall a time she had been with a man that was even close to her equal, much less her superior. And Fear... because she had never been with someone she did not absolutely know she could control, or slay.
Not realizing it, her face shifted slightly and she took half a step back again as he gave the directions to the Disciple wing.
“If it's too cramped for you... well that gives you something to work for.”
She nodded her head. Her own chambers would be a much nicer deal. She would just have to do her best to get the rank and privileges that would allow for that.
And as he turned and walked away, he mentioned liking his privacy. “I will remember that... Zephyrus.” She lingered a moment before speaking his name, just to see if he would notice. She murmured to his back then turned back to the pillar across the room. Loosening the ties on her shirt, now that she was alone. She decided to use the emotions he had drawn up from her to practice. Better than running away she thought to herself. And I certainly am not going to run to him. At least..... not yet. She laughed at herself and took off at full speed for the other side of the arena.
She used Force Speed to run and leap up to replace the saber where it had been. She then spent the next several candle marks practicing what she had learned. From Force Pull, to Force Speed, and back to Pull again. Over and over devising more and more ways to make them work. When next she was asked, she would show she had been serious and not lacking in drive or ability.
